Driver's seat squeaking

Does anyone have a problem with their driver's seat squeaking? Mine just started about a month ago. I have an 04 SCREW XLT with cloth captain chairs. It seems to be the springs in the seat.

My '03 did. It was the lumbar support adjustment that was squeaking. I just pulled the upholstery up, and lubed the contact points with white lithium...

...That's pretty funny.

I have the sqeaky seat too...but it doesn't have anything to do with my weight. I'm under 200 pounds. I mentioned the squeak to my dealer and they looked at the seat. Told me they couldn't get it to squeak on the test drive. I told them it wasn't squeaking on truck movement while driving, but body movement in the seat. They oiled something and told me there was plenty of time on the warranty and to bring it to their attention next time I was in for a service if it still sqeaked. Well...my next service is coming up soon and it still squeaks. Body movement in the seat just by leaning to one side or the other causes the squeak and it sounds like it's in the springs. I'd rather just have the seat replaced rather than having it lubbed every time the squeak comes back. Sounds like a faulty seat to me. Besides...I don't like the idea of someone peeling back my upholstery every time this happens.

Just took mine in for driver's side squeak too. Tech said it is the lumbar support cable, he thinks. Only happens on turns when I shift my weight. He ordered a new seat frame for it. Pretty sure that will take care of it.

A new seat frame? Doesn't that pretty much include everything but the upholstery? It can't be that much more to just replace the whole seat.

My seat was making a clicking sound and also moved back when accelerating. Dealer replaced seat track and problem fixed.

Now it does sometimes moves back when accelerating but it does not make a sound, just moves slightly. Might be something with the power seat mechanism. Thats the next thing for the dealer to fix.

Thanks for all the legitmate replies. I'm taking my truck in for service soon and I'll hopefully have something to report.

I agree fx4scab. I was hoping for a whole new unit. Guess the leather is pricey. They just peal that off and put it on the new frame I guess.

This is a real easy fix, and think about it... if this many people have the same issue a "new" seat will eventually develope it. Just spray some white lithium on it, and be

Demolition and pineknot,

Let us know if they are able to fix it, and how they did it. Thanks.
