Since you bought the FX4 as a spur of the moment thing, I think you should NOT make another spur of the moment decision.

Drive the FX4 for another 6 months to a year and then see if you're still considering an H2.

You got a 4x4 truck for it's capability. In my not so humble opinion, there is nothing capable about an H2.

I think the H2 looks neat, but sitting inside and looking out GM's idea of a "window" leads me to believe that it would be quite a headache to maneuver.

Also remember that just because you "want" something doesn't mean you have to, or can afford to, get it. Save your $$ and enjoy your FX4.

Ive always been told "buy what you want or you will never be satisfied" and it sounds like that is what happened to you. I love my Ford but I didnt go into it blind, before I decided to buy I researched as much as I could and looked at all that interested me. I think I made the right choice and have not regretted it one little bit. You should do the same thing. No one can make this decision for you. If you decide to keep the Ford you know you have a great truck. If you decide on the H2 you will get what you think you want and may be happy with it and someone else will have a good Ford. Sounds like a win win situation for someone. Good luck on whatever decision you make just research it some first.

Let him trade is F-150 in and take a beating on re-sale. Then when the Hummer flakes out and he decides to trade it in in 6 months he will take another beating on resale value. I love everyones misconception of how much their truck is worth. Yes...It is a Ford Truck and the best made truck out there...but they have crappy resale value. The main reason is all the rebates. You can buy a truck for that lists for 40k for 31k ...as soon as you drive it off the lot has already dropped another 3k to 4k in value and will continue to drop pretty quickly. These things are not investments unless it is part of your job. Keep the F-150 and dont worry about the looking cool in the Hummer. My perception of someone driving a Hummer is not of coolness. It is usually someone who is:
1. Extremely deep in debt up to the eyeballs
2. Professional Basketball player with 26" rims
3. Has some serious problems with self confidence and thinks that a H2 will help.
4. Occasianally a hot looking babe driving it.

If you like or fit into one of these catagories have at it. H2 is basicaly Frankenstein of Chevy truck parts. Dont get me wrong, I like the way they look, but they have not practical use.

Let him drive the overpriced, crappy riding, rattle trap made of plastic and duct tape from the GM discarded parts bin and see if he still wants it. Those things are the biggest piles of junk for the money that people shell out for them. Poor build quality is redefined by the H2.

I think its hilarious that most everyone knows the H2 is a POS even though they know nothing about it or have never driven one......

My aunt bought one right when they came out and she brought it home to the farm for a holiday and I got to drive it and see what it had....Needless to say I was very impressed with this Hummer...dont get me wrong, it wasnt as rugged as the H1 but it was still very capable....i took it out across one of our plowed under corn fields and then wheeled a bit around a newly constructed pond on our farm...it felt very solid and when flying up and down the graded edges of the pond it was very sure footed from its huge tires and wide stance....i was very impressed....its 360 V8 was very quiet and powerful as well...this thing could easily be a beast....

I just think its funny that if someone is thinking of getting something other than a F150 people say its over-priced, crappy riding, plastic piece of crap-for those who say that they obviously hadven't driven one....

Having said that, buy one if you want to bro, i thought it was a solid truck .....i would rather put about 10-15 grand into my F150 however....

If you want and like the H2 get it! Especialy if thats what you have always wanted. The H2 is on a proven platform and is a very nice truck. Hell if people didn't want their rides to be "cool" the aftermarket world would go broke....I find it hillarious that have the people ripping you for thinking what you drive makes you cool also have pics of their trucks in their sig. Hell if your all that post a pic of your sorry mugs in your sig!!!

Doesnt the H2 have the same running gear as a Z71??? Thats a proven platform (unlike the new Ford set up).

H1's are cool and the H1 ALPHA is the ultimate ride! H2's are the ulimate suburban housewife grocery getter. Save yourself the extra cash and buy the Suburban...it's the same chassis.

John

Just my $.02...

Just make sure to jump out of the H2 if you see a Dodge 4x4 heading at you...

Was In Same Boat

I sold my 03 Z06 vette and I wanted an 04 F150 or an H2 money wasnt an option. This is why I didnt get an H2.

1)Too wide for the garage, Im a clean freak. My f150 w/ 6" lift will.
2)The H2 doesnt have a bed to throw deer in.
3)H2's are every where in Raleigh, lifted f150's are rare.
4)Soccer moms and yuppies drive them.
And for the ego attention getter that you want, I parked my F150 outside the club one night beside a hummer every person that walked out went nuts over it and said it was the nicest truck in town.

I love when people make comments about some of us not actually driving hummers and our opinions. I have several friends that have H2s and they cant stand them. Actually one of them likes it pretty well, but wished he did not buy it. 2 of them have been in the shop for major warranty repairs including busted tie rods. The other had the rear end replaced twice and both have had electrical issues.

I have my truck in the sig because I think it is cool. I dont think I am cool because I drive it. Im cool regardless of what I drive.
