Not sure why the guy is here. I, for one....have no vibrations (or any other problem) with my truck. Damn comfortable seats too. Better than my Camry, in fact.

Now if we assume 15% driveline loss, the 261Hp would come out to 300HP. Dynos don't really lie. Looks like it is right where the facotry said it should be, don't see any underrating here. I am all for a good informational thread, but post of data, facts, pics, etc....before you make exaggerated claims like 350HP. Thanks
15%?!! Ummm its 20% for a 4x2 and 25% for a 4x4. Try again. Big tires, big wheels, and center diff causes more loss on a truck.

Here is a link to more dyno runs FYI. http://www.clubtitan.org/postlite52-dyno.html

Not making anything exaggerated, you just obviously don't know the actual loss on a truck.

I had enough of this troll's BS so I went to the local Nissan dealer today and drove a Titan for about an hour. I have to admit it is a hell of a nice package, especially if you never have to put anything big in the 3x4 box they call a bed on that thing. It had a nice stereo, no better than the one in my Ford, comfy seats, but the cab was much narrower at my shoulders than my truck. The thing had good power, but torque off idle wasn't as strong as the Ford. It really hauled once I wound it up though. It rode nice for a truck and felt relatively solid, but no where near as rigid nor as smooth and quiet as the F-150.

The two biggest reasons that I would have still chosen the Ford over the Nissan were the exterior/interior styling of the Ford is, in my opinion MUCH classier, and more tastefully done than the Titan. That's one of the big ones, and a very subjective reason, but........

The biggest reason why the Nissan isn't a good buy is the dang price. The dealer I visited didn't even order any '05's yet because they still had a dozen '04's left on the lot. The ONLY thing they were offering was a 2500 rebate, and 2.9% financing. To compare sticker prices, my '05 XLT SCab, 4x4 had an MSRP of right over $34k, and after rebates and incentives that was already down to $27k by the time I got out the door. A comparably equipped Titan would have had a sticker of over $35k, and they just plain would not come down more than the $2500, and 2.9% combo. They're not gonna sell a lot of those things priced like that when there are equally good, if not better in my opinion options from the other truck camps out there.

g35_tx,

You are wrong on everything except maybe the comfort of the seats.

Both are great trucks.. I have owned both been there done that and I had a cigarette afterwards.

Each has its own thing and each person has their own likes and dislikes on each.

As for the power ok again... the Titan has to me the best STOCK engine and tranny around. Only time will tell if it holds up or not and if it does not that there is no 2 month backorder on parts (one reason I got rid of mine)

Now a tuned Ford will hang or beat a stock Titan. Even with the higher Ford weight. Like I said I have owned both and I know. These are not just my opinions getting thrown around.

Stock the Ford is a pig to me (sorry). The Nissan is already tuned out from the factory. Hell the stock Ford does not even hit 5k when running full throttle when, if I remember right the Titan goes to 6K or close to it. Big difference right there.

Once the Ford is opened up it is a different story since the Nissan has no where to go. There is nothing at all available to make more horsepower out of them except the usual intake and exhaust (another reason I sold it) The Ford can easily pass the Nissan in horsepower. I know, I already did with mine.

If there is ever a tuner available for the Nissan then maybe it will catch up but I seriously doubt it because it is pretty maxed out already that is probably why there is no outlook at all for any performance chips coming.

I just checked out your link. The moderator dyno'd his truck and at stock he got:

256.2 Max HP
300.3 Max Torque

After he added the Volant CAI, and Flowmaster 50 Series Muffler he was making...

280.2 Max HP
345.4 Max Torque

Another guy on there (fannattic)
271.27 Max HP
316.93 Max Torque
MODS: Exhaust

One last guy (RockyMtnTitan)
260.5 Max HP
331.1 Max Torque
MODS: K&N Drop In Filter & Aero Turbine Muffler Stock Pipes

These were the first three guys on that thread that posted Dyno results...I didn't go any further cause I don't want to spend all night looking through the Titan Furom.

You said in your earlier post that these trucks were getting 350HP. Is that right, or am I missing something?

The is no doubt that these trucks have better numbers on MaxHP and Torque, but I want to make sure we are seeing the truth here.

If you know something I don't then please educate me.

Anybody got any proof on a 2004 5.4L F-150 with the big three mods? (cold air intake, tuner, exhaust)

You are wasting your time looking for truth about Titans in this thread Dawg.

Re-read this whole thread, its filled with inaccuracies.

Stock Titans pulling high 14's, Nissan best resale value champion, blah, blah, blah....

And a stock Titan couldn't pull 350 HP with a MinuteMan II missile lodged up its butt.

This thread seems to be going straight down the toilet and as the one who started it I feel obligated to at least post one last time before it gets locked.... you guys (on both sides) who can't see the strong points of the other side just don't get it..... Recognizing your oppenent's strengths is very valuable and those of you who put blinders on and just say "xxx brand is the best, no matter what" are lost.... If it makes you feel better in your decision to ignore that the other side may have you beat in some areas.... well, you need more help than an inatimate object, such as a truck, can give you.... To say that the stereo on the Ford is better than the Fosgate system in the Nissan is pure ingorance and denial. Furthermore, it's a simple fact that the Nissan engine/tranny simiply outruns the Ford in its stock form... On the other side it's crazy to think that the Nissan lives up to Ford's history of creature comforts, style and interior trim.... I have looked at both trucks in detail... owned both and maintain the ability to be honest in discussing them... when you pound your chest while standing atop your rig shouting "This is the only truck in the world" you really look like a jackass.... and your argument loses all credibility.... to those of you that have discussed this honestly, thank you.... to the rest of you... grow up

I have been refraining from posting in this thread for obvious reasons, but enough is enough.
No one forced you to buy the truck you did, and as long as you are happy with it that is all that matters.

But seriously coming here to brag about it wasnt exactly the smartest thing in the world todo! What are you going todo next...walk into south central wearing a KKK outfit, im sure you will get a warm reception there as well.

The last time i checked this was a F150 forum, and im pretty damn sure that everyone here thinks their vehicles are the best trucks available or else we wouldnt have bought them.

I think it went to chit when g35_tx started in. Seems like a lot of the things he was saying, was pissin a bunch of these folks off.

Then we have some that can't keep up with who said what, much less an intelligent conversation.

I for one appreciate your honesty, your objective opinion, and have enjoyed your comments. I hope you stick around regardless of how ugly your truck is!! hehe

What exactly did you think would happen when you started this post the way you did. Any person with any inteligence would have realized that they would be at the very least pushing everyones buttons, and it did.

You could have just did a fairwell post, without all the Nissan is a better this and that in a F150 forum. DUH !!!

I did read your post, and re read it and waited more than a few days to do my post. (didnt want to waste my time) Unlike you i actually think about what i am going to say...before i say it...if you did we wouldnt be talking right now!!!

mtofell,

I know I am sure to catch a load of crap from die hard ford lovers and I deserve it....

Relax! Looks like a nice day for a drive in our new trucks (from where I'm sitting anyway).
