And if you want to look at the TSBs, go to any TSB site that shows for each manufacture and you willl see for yourself. I don't need to make claims, its a fact. I am not getting into a heated discussion with you over this because its obvious all you want to do is cause a problem. You can go look the info up yourself.

Some owners to calm down the CHROME look they bought the Armada grill which is painted to match the paint of the vehicle. It helps the front end. And get a bull guard or brush guard, and that helps even more.
The burden is on the person *making* the claims to provide proof, not the people reading the posts. The discussion here isn't heated of it'd be locked . My beef isn't that you claim there are more TSB's for the F-150, it's that you throw out exaggerated numbers like 4x more. I'm not looking to cause a problem, unless by problem you mean I am reluctant to accept your claims at face value with no backing proof. I showed in a previous post that you were exaggerating and I provided links to prove it.

The F-150 isn't perfect. Aside from the vibration issue which seems resolved in new vehicles the F-150's problems seem no worse at all than the Titan's.

The Titan looked a better with the painted front end (very nicely done). The overall shape still doesn't appeal to me though. They captured the style better with the new Frontiers. Of course this is only my opinion and I'm sure some people love the front end. Choices are great to have...now if you want to talk about the Silverado front end .

Actually no vehicle is perfect. But I just don't like someone coming out making it sound like a fact that the Titan has quality problems. Both trucks are first year trucks, and both have issues. Truthfully Ford since they been making the F150 for years should have not had any. Oh well.

The vibration issue is a pretty major problem. I felt that on 3 of the 4 trucks I drove. Didn't like that since I drive 100 miles a day for work!

Now on looks, OMG GM screwed up the Silverados front end. I liked the previous model and the current GMC models of the Sierra. I am afraid to even look at a new GMC if they remodel it, because I bet they will ruin it like they did on the Chevy side, and the Chevy new Minivan BUTT UGLY. lol

Should not have had any? A totally new vehicle design can't have a bug? Since when?

We live in a world of automation, multitudes of suppliers, and thousands of functioning parts. To date, I know of NO (million dollar plus to Daewoo and below) vehicle, appliance, or any other mechanical part/piece that has been 100% flawless.

Your comment is ludacrious! It's like saying "GE has made refrigerators for over 30 years, I can't believe I had a part go bad on this fridge that is 4 months old..."

or

"Mercedes Benz has manufactured vehicles since the late 1800's and they should all still be running today with the same original parts, tires, and oil..."

Get a clue man .... oh yeah, and I mean that 'truthfully'.

Ok, gotta chime in here. Yes Ford has been building F150s for years and years. But about the only thing the new F150 shares with any previous model is the engine and rearend. So it is basically an all new vehicle. And with any new vehicle there are going to be some kinks to work out, whether the name has been around for years or not.

The vibration issue is a pretty major problem. I felt that on 3 of the 4 trucks I drove. Didn't like that since I drive 100 miles a day for work!
In terms of major problems, I would rather have a truck that vibrates than one where the brakes don't last and could cause an accident. In the end neither automaker should have these problems, but I think these issues get blown out of proportion on the message boards. For how many trucks get made, very very few have any problems.

I think here we agree

As for the vibe issue on the F-150 that was a bit of a major problem for a first year vehicle. I'm sure they learned a hard lesson on that.

Back again. Perhaps Ford has more TSBs out because they are deciding to fix all problems that are brought to their attention, and not just replace defective parts with the same defective part. Ok, i'm done Nissan bashing for the day.

Obviously some of you can't post without bashing another brand of vehicle.

okay.... 300 miles into the new ride and since you all are still going I thought I would chime back in....

the truck is nice... there are things I wish were different (miss my f150's mirrors and overall visibility and the dark strip at the top of the windshield is a bit much for me)... Love the power and 5spd tranny..., the 10 spkr stereo is nice.... satellite radio is pretty much useless, at least to me.... the climate control is not as good as Ford's.... the int. wiper control lacks the multitude of settings that the f150 has... the front legroom is not quite as good as my f150... but to be fair my old ford was a 99 and the legroom seemed a bit less in the 04 f150 revision. I wish the passenger side large mirror (titan has the main and bubble setup similar to ford superduty) had some curvature to it.... the distance from your eye to the mirror makes it pretty useless... the bubble on the bottom works great but it's tough to gague distance in a bubble mirror ( I am looking into an overlay to make it similar my f150 psngr mirror).... the heated seats are nice, the power rear window is nice, the shock on the rear gate is nice, the bed tracks and accessories (tool box, etc.) look pretty cool.... overall, it's a neat truck but I would be happy in an f150 too.... the thing that tipped the scale for me really was the 5spd auto tranny.... all the other things I can deal with... I just like the way the tranny makes the power available... it was a really close call... on another day I may have gone with another Ford... they are great trucks... it's all trade off's.... still a good debate.... be nice

Nice review. I noticed the wiper thing on my Xterra. Really minor though. Glad the truck is treating you well. If it holds up like other Nissan trucks you should be happy a long time.

In what *kind* of performance? I'll put my F-150 5.4L against the Titan any day towing a boat. Look at the tow capacity of both motors, and tell me which one you think will win.

When you design a motor, you have to consider what the purpose of the vehicle will be. Sure, the Titan may be faster than the F-150, but the Ford engineers designed the truck to have good torque and even power throughout the band, so that it is more *useful*. You know, for people who actually need a *truck* for truck-type stuff. Same deal with the Hemi... makes more horsepower down low, but has limited useable torque. That's why Ford made that commercial where the Hemi is towing a Charger and the Ford is towing a Mustang, and the Ford beats the Hemi.

If the "Titan" wants to play, I'll bring out my '03 Cobra. I'm sure his "smooth 5-speed" amd powerhouse engine won't be schooling me anytime soon...

And just so no one thinks I'm a blue-oval till I die kind of guy, I've own lots of cars (mostly Acura/Nissan). I just happen to think the F-150 is the best truck in the market. For what it's worth, I had a '92 Maxima and a '97 Maxima, and I loved them both, until the engines spontaneously combusted (on both of them). One turned out to be an alternator cable, the other I still don't know what caused it to catch fire!

Ford will again sell close to 1million F-150's again this year. Nissan will be lucky to sell 100,000. We win, end of story.

FYI, some of it is the tranny, but most of it is because the Titan is underated. It makes around 350 hp, not 305 per the dynos we all have seen.

Re: sheesh....

The Titan will smoke the F150 in a towing comparison. Put a 8k boat behind each of them, the Titan will pull past the F150 with lots of room to spare. Read the unbiased test from trailer boating where they tested the Titan against the Big 3. The Titan ran circles in the towing area.

http://www.trailerboats.com/site_pag...e_page_259.cfm

That's how the Titan got towing vehicle of the year.

Titan has a better power band and towing ability than the F150. Your post I hate to say it makes you look really dumb. This part made me laugh " You know, for people who actually need a *truck* for truck-type stuff. ". Actually the Titan has more of the truck type stuff that buyers look for than the F150. So your point?

A Charger, hmm you do know the Charger weighs alot more too right? LOL it's just another marketing lie of the Ford commericial. Trailer boating is unbiased and there tests are very true.

Ahhh, now we see the truth, your a die hard ford guy, thats why you made comments like you did.

Never seen a Nissan catch on fire, but seen 100s of fords do because of their crappy wiring.
