Hi g35,

Btw, if you look at the tests, the Titan out handles the F150, out brakes, out accerates by over 1.5 seconds. You won't gain 1.5 sec with a chip exhaust and intake on a NA engine.
You should change your namr to Titan_tx

Welcome to F-150 online!

Just to set the record straight. I wanted a F150. I went to 4 dealers in my town, and all of them were giving me crap on trade in for my G35. If Gunn owned a Ford dealer I could have taken the better appraisal to that Ford dealer and got it. But I decided to check my 2nd truck out and it was the Titan, I had no problems getting into one, and got all the moneys worth out of my G35.

I still like the way the Fords look inside out though.

Btw, I was mistaken on how many cars were on the list for Nissan/Infiniti. But they are on there so you can't say they have the worse when in reality they have some of the best.

g35_TX,

You must be a migrated Texan. First of all, us Texans abbreviate Texas as "TX", not "tx". Secondly, us Texans wouldn't spew BS like you've been putting out about Nissan. So the Titan will get to the next stop light a second and a half before I do..... Damn it! I guess I should go trade in my '04 Screw 4X4 for a Titan now. I beleive i've got a damned good truck. If you feel you've got one too, great! But don't come here touting your Japanese first try at a half-ton truck as being the end all, be all. It is a nice truck. They did do a heck of a good job on their first half/ton. But, it ain't no where near the quality of vehicle as the Ford. That is my opinion, so take it or leave it.

1) I am a real texan. I was born here. And when I signed up on the forum is the way my name was put in. It actually changes if I put G35_TX it will change to that.

2) 1.5 sec is over 4 car lengths. But we didn't buy the truck to race now did we? But the power of the Titan shows itself under towing, and thats where I needed it.

3) Nissan did a good job at the first try at a full size truck. They actually hit the mark so good, its winning awards all over. Toyota never did that since there current Tundra is still 7/8 the size of the Big 3 and Titan. The Titan is actually more American than any of the Big 3. It has all american parts and its built in America. It was designed by Americans that love Trucks. Unlike the Dodge which is Canada build, and the F150 which is Mexico I believe or was it Chevy? I forget.

4) Ford has been building full size trucks for years and years. You would THINK they would have learned a few things that would make truck buyers like the F150 more. But Nissan first year out, hit all the stuff that truck buyers look for! Throaty exhaust, utility package with rails and lock downs, factory bed liner, crew cab space, built in trailer wiring, etc.

Now if we could do this. Put the seats, and the powertrain out of the Titan into a F150, it would be the perfect truck IMHO.

Dude, good luck with the new truck. Sorry you weren't as impressed with the new F150 as the rest of obviously were. At the end of the day, it is you who has to be happy with the decision.
Enjoy!

The Titan runs high 14s stock.
Your Nissan bias and lack of knowledge are showing, again.

High 14's - your are dreaming son. 15.4 seconds in the quarter per Car and Driver. Here is the link:

Did you gather your "Nissan 6 of 10" in highest resale value from the same place that laughingly told you the Titan runs high 14's?

Educate yourself son.

Maybe per magazine racing, but per real life, people are running high 14s with the Titan.

Well, technically, if you do a search on TSBs you will see the new F150 has a list that is 4 x longer than the Titan.

So behind the scences, the F150 is worse in that department.

Still no links?

Nissan buils a nice vehicle but statements like you are making with no links or form of proof carry 0 weight, especially when you use words like "technically".

You come off as a zealot to make all these claims and not even a small shred of proof. Usually it's nicer when the zealots stay in their own end of the pool so the less biased can discuss issues intelligently. The original poster made some good points and I entirely respect his reasoning behind buying the Titan. With trucks today it is *really* difficult to find one that will not do the job and do it well. The important thing is to satisfy the person making the payments, and each truck has that ability easily.

What would make your posts more interesting is if you could add some tangible evidence and not just wild claims based on emotion alone.

As for me I was originally interested in getting a Colorado/Canyon and the Rangers were out for me due to safety/size reasons. I had also considered the Frontiers but the interior size of the old ones was small for my needs and I didn't like the front ends. I decided that the Canyon/Colorado/New Frontier won't do the job since the truck will have to be my primary vehicle. Every Toyota dealer I have ever been near was a "bunch of jerks who would be the first ones with their backs to the wall when the revolution comes".

I'm now looking at full size vehicles. I have the big 3 and Nissan to decide from. Chevy/GMC are old and tired but at least they're expensive . Dodge builds a nice truck but they aren't exactly cheap either and I'm not fond of their appearance (I have access to buying programs from work for GM/Ford and Chrysler). Ford and Nissan are the two I'm left looking at. Nissan has some nice numbers and the prices aren't bad. Ford prices are better for me with the x-plan and the Ford looks great for my needs in most ways. I also prefer the look of the F-150 over the Titan. I guess that is my bigggest gripe with Nissan. If they could have toned down the front end a bit it may have been more appealing to me. They seem to have done better with the new Frontier so I know they are capable.

Anyway, I went off on a serious tangent here. Enjoy your Titan and have a good day, we're getting snowed on pretty hard as I type .

Well www.titantalk.com for the time slips.

And if you want to look at the TSBs, go to any TSB site that shows for each manufacture and you willl see for yourself. I don't need to make claims, its a fact. I am not getting into a heated discussion with you over this because its obvious all you want to do is cause a problem. You can go look the info up yourself.

Some owners to calm down the CHROME look they bought the Armada grill which is painted to match the paint of the vehicle. It helps the front end. And get a bull guard or brush guard, and that helps even more.
