If you knew anything about vehicles you would know that Nissan's resale value is by far the poorest of any Japanese manufacturer and not much better than Hyundai. (Yeah, Infiniti is down the scale too).
Do your homework Sparky.
Of all the people that said "I test drove all the trucks before I bought my ______" not one of them said they test drove a Chevy.
Hmmmmm......
So, be honest...how many of you guys test drove a Chevy, before making your decision?
Good Luck with the Titan.

First of all, Mtofell you picked what worked for you and you should be happy with your decision until your ownership experience has proven otherwise.
g35_tx, your issue seems to be performance, you should go to the Dodge forum because the Ford is not faster than the Titan or the Dodge. (your wasting your time in this forum)
I did test drive the Dodge three times, the Nissan twice and the Chevy once before buying the Ford.
I am married to Fords A-Plan (just lucky).
I am not however married to Ford. With that said, I test drove what I thought where the best trucks made at the time. I understand Honda is supposed to come out with a 400 + HP monster shortly.
(if thats the case all these trucks will be slow short of the Dodge SRT)
There is another thing I am aware of and that is not to ever buy the first model year of any vehicle. (Nissan and Ford in this case)
I was able to sit in all three plus the Toyota at the Dallas Auto show before deciding which trucks I wanted to look into. I do not fit into the Toyota as I am 6'5" and it just wasn't for me.
The Dodge Hemi was the funnest vehicle to drive among the three. I think it at least "felt" the fastest. I would say it is a distant second in interior. I could have bought the Dodge if the interior was considerably better. Some people would think it was fine but the Ford console and styling inside was a big selling point for me on the Lariat. I would give the Dodge a third on ride but it is very, very close to the Titan.
The Nissan was also fun to drive but that front end "styling" was one minor problem for me. Performance is very good. Handling was second for me but once again a distant second from the Ford. Both the Dodge and the Nissan have a lot of body sway in corners. If they moved their shocks outboard like Ford did I think it would be a draw in cornering. I was not impressed with the interior and my best friend owns one. He has had the turn signal lever break (didn't work, not break off) and two radio buttons not work. (they where all fixed under warranty and have been working for 6 months)
I am not going to go into the Chevy as I really didn't like the ride and didn't pay much attention to anything else. (it rode like a truck)
I still think the Ford has by far the best ride (and I have a "vibrator"). The best interior styling by far. (Thats what I see when I drive, and since you can't see your front end we can call the "fat chick" a wash)
The F150 is not faster than the Titan or the Dodge and is usually more expensive, at least at the high end which is what I was looking at.
So why did I buy the F150 4x4 Lariat "first model year"? DOH!!!
Well since I personally think the interior is by far the best, the exterior is as good as anyone, the handling is second to none (even with the vibration).
The answer is simple I got A-plan and I can go to Troyer Performance and keep up with you fast guys with ugly front ends and fast Hemi's for the same price!!! (actually its a little cheaper back in Oct 2004)
I hope you are happy with your decision and I really did enjoy test driving the Titan... Good Luck

G35- You apparently came to this FORD forum to start s*%t. You own a Titan and you think your Titan is better than our F-150, so talk about it on your Nissan Forum. If you want to add usefull information to this site than by all means do so. But posting here that Nissan is the best yada, yada ,yada and Fords Suck, you are just stirring things up.
Don't you have somthing better to do with your time?

"Ummm adding the chip to the Ford will still not help the Ford. It will take a Supercharger to even be close to the Titan in performance"
g35_tx,
You are dead wrong about the Titan vs Ford in performance my man. I had one of the first in Cali and one of the first lifted. I had it 6 months. Awesome truck, looked sweet and rode great!!
Now because of the brakes and overall import metal feel of the trucks metal and horrible interior material not to mention the whimpy differential which is on serious backorder if you break it and they do break, I went to the Ford which I wanted at first. I also lifted the Ford the same as the Titan.
At first the F-150 was way slow compared to the Titan. I have done the Troyer tunes, exhaust and intake. It will stay darn close to the Titan now some believe even faster due to the lag the Titan has below 3,000 rpm. The tunes really open up what Ford has in these engines. The F-150 is also a 4x4 and my Titan was a 2wd with intake kit and exhaust both on 35" tires.
Even testing out the trucks tunes one night I got a chance to get into a little run with a Titan SE 4x4(mine was an XE 2wd) and walked him pretty good.
I love the Titan but I am enjoying the tuned Ford now

DTEK- Although I have not owned a Titan I have driven one and I KNOW my Superchiped F-150 SCREW will hang with one. I have messed with a Ram Hemi and we were pretty even. I know a stock Titan is pretty close to a stock Hemi in performance (0-60, 1/4 mile).
For "G35" to say that a F-150 needs a supercharger to keep up with a Titan is rediculous! Again, he is just trying to stip things up (and it might work). I love my F-150, but I do believe that all the full size trucks are good vehicles, its just up to the individual to decide which one is best for them. For me its the F-150!

The last post is great and I think this has been great debate.... we are all lucky to live in a time when trucks are so well built... event the 'worst' truck (as any individual may percive it) is far better than the 'best' of 15 years ago. The safety, performance, comfort, reliability, etc. can be argued between the brands. I had never compared the trucks so closely as the last month or so when I bought my new truck. Competition is really for the benefit of everyone.... it seems now that a strong argument can be made for almost any manufacturer in some areas. The overwhelming majority of the posts here seem to realize the concept that some trucks are good in some areas and others in other areas.... obviously there is no clear cut winner or we would all be driving it, right? We should all just be thankful that we have the benefit of such good technology..... I remember my first car, not that many years ago.... a 67 ford falcon window van.... brakes so bad I had to put all my weight on the pedal going down a hill.... steering like cement - safety? yikes.... don't even ask.... burning oil, buring brake fluid, automatic transmission? what's that? .... anti-lock brakes? air bags? air-conditioning? maybe I am just high from the 'new car' smell, but we have it pretty good these days

I thought I really had something and it had all the issues you discribe...but it was the first and was great
Ford 71 F100 pickup 1971-1982
Ford 82 F100 pickup 1982 -1993 (Fords worst years)
Ford F150 XL aF150 4.6 pu 1993-1995
Ford F150 XLT SC. PU 4.6 1995 - 1998
Ford F150 Lar SC PU 4.6 1998-2000
Ford F150 Lar SC PU 5.4 2000-2003
Ford F150 Lar SC PU 4.6 2003-2005
NEW 2005 F150 Lar SC PU 5.4
Yep I am a ford driver...Had the best and the worst of them all..but This new thing they have, I must say...Is one tight Truck..
Pricy..oh yes...But tight...Different then even the 2003..
As far as the competition...IF it is a better Ford, it is because of the competition... Hey, in 82...(A peice of junk that I nursed for 10 years - (raising kids and just no money).) anyway, in 82 they would have never improved so fast if the Japanese wasnt kicking American car companies rear end in the market...They had to improve...
I say this....Buy what you like...Hey you loose money when you take them off the lot...It isnt a house...It wont be worth twice what you gave for it..no matter what it is....Enjoy the difference...I like to get with other people and compare the difference...Each Truck has something different to offer...Hey it keeps Ford and Chevy on their toes....and hey...I almost went with that HEMI dodge..but they didnt want to give me what I needed for my truck...
So they are all great in my opinion...Just different...We are on this forum to share our differences... Show our uniqueness in choices...
ENJOY the TRUCK thing...It is truly the last vestage of the american Male in this whimped out society...

Then how come there are at least 6 nissans on the top 10 list for best resale value?
I almost bought a F150 till I drove the Titan and was much more impressed by how the Titan handled, power, more features, etc. The ford seats were terrible.
Btw, if you look at the tests, the Titan out handles the F150, out brakes, out accerates by over 1.5 seconds. You won't gain 1.5 sec with a chip exhaust and intake on a NA engine.
The Titan runs high 14s stock.

Has your family dis-owned your for having bout a Ford?
I just have been really surprised that there haven't been any Ford - Chevy debates on here. This is one of the biggest rivalries EVER!! We get the occasional Ford vs Dodge, Ford vs Nissan, ..etc But no Ford vs Chevy.
anyway....maybe that is pushing it too far to assume we would even discuss Chevys here.

I found a link that says you're mistaken. Nissans are nice (I've owned two from new) but you're exaggerating a bit.
(This one has 2 Nissans on it if you count Infiniti)

Here's another:
(This one has 3 if you count Infiniti - it has many more than 10 cars though due to ties)
