Wow, it seems on my way out the door I started one the best debates I have seen on the board.... until the last group of posts the comments had been pretty honest and dignified.... I drove Toyotas for my whole life until my F150 and I love the size and comfort of the Ford but I have to let some of you guys in a seceret that you apparently haven't noticed since all you ever drive are Fords.... these aren't exactly Maytag washing machines... forget about the Nissan Titan for the time being because all of the comments are really speculation and I admit that I am taking a chance..... anyhow, my F150 had more rattles and squeaks after 60K than any Toyota had at 125K.... as for the rotors that I keep hearing about on the Nissan.... stop by the 'brake' forum and do a search for 'rotor' and see how many thousands of posts you get.... and how about the 'rattle/shimmy/shake, etc.' that this board is full of for the 2004/05 F150's???? Just because these trucks have been selling for 38 thousand years does not mean they are better built than any other brand..... this whole quality built for 28 years thing is the exact slogan Ford has crammed into your skull.... just what they want you to think... don't be such pigeons.... Ford makes great trucks, so does Chevy, Toyota, Dodge and hopefully Nissan.... I just think that you guys that are preaching that these Ford's are built like Mercedes are I am sure that now I will catch the load of crap that I was expecting after the first post.... I suppose it's due since I am on a Ford board... the vast majority of the previous posters have a lot of good insight and I can see that you understand reality.... the few of you that have your heads in the sand need to wake up... Fords are great trucks, I will likely buy one again someday.... but there is certainly room for improvement.... don't be scared..... you still pee standing up even if you drive an import....

Now your true feelings come out! Why didn't you start this thread with your last post and just get it off your chest.
Good luck with your Titan

i kinda have to agree with your last post. most diehard ford owners have what i like to call a cult mentality. i bet if ford announced that a mass suicide would increase sales there would be some diehard fans trying to off themselves for the good of the "BLUE OVAL".

i really get a kick out of those who spend a year bitching and complaining about all their problems and time spent in the shop to diagnose fix/not fix these problems and then finally get rid of the truck thru dsb or lemon law and then turn around and buy another one. WTF? Wanna buy a pet rock?!

don't get me wrong. i like my truck and i am not bashing anyone here but that's just what it is, a truck. i have had chevy, dodge, and ford trucks as well as a few jeeps. all were good. i will have to admit that the best truck i have ever owned was my 99 Dodge. never in the shop once for anything, at all, ever. my new, best truck in the universe has been in the shop more times than i like to admit.

ford, dodge, chevy...etc. all make good trucks and all have their problems. don't bash this guy because he didn't buy a ford. fight the cult man he got what he wanted and all the power to him.

good luck with your truck and enjoy it and don't let all of the blue oval junkies on this forum drag you down.

New thicker rotors, bigger calipers, better brake pads are due out in April for the Titan. Or so I hear.

He isn't getting bashed because he didn't buy a Ford! He is getting bashed because he posted on this forum about deciding on a Titan. Go over to the Titan forum and tell them why you chose a Ford over a Nissan and see what happens.
Didn't your mother tell you what happens when you play with fire?

why bash at all? is it really necessary. every time someone mentions the titan it becomes a knock down drag out bashing brawl and then the thread gets terminated.

some, not all, people on this forum are like the school bully. there is no reason this subject cannot be discussed without all of the bitter remarks and childish responses.

hey RP. time to close this thread.

Bashing and Ribbing are two different situations. I think giving a "Titan Guy" that posts on a Ford site a ribbing for buying a Japanese Truck is a lot like myself giving my college roomate a hard time for bringing the "fat chick" home from a club ;-). It's just freindly joking. Now, bashing, is a different story. To make irrational comments like the Titan isn't worthy of "Truckdom" because it's a Japanese truck makes no sense. Bottom line is, if you like, drive it.

By the way....the Titan does look a lot like a "fat chick", only, you have to bring her home EVERY night Mtofell ;-) !

Good luck man and let us know how she does over the next few months.

Tell your friend to get some aftermarket pads that we are getting from mossy Nissan in Calif. They stop the rotors problems and help the performance on braking. I have them on mine, and love them. The material in the Nissan pads suck.

My opinion is that Ford has toned the 5.4 3V down to appease the common "Joe (or Sally)" and possibily the government. If you add a Supertuner the engine runs better than the Titan, IMHO.

Anyway, good luck. Please visit this forum and keep us posted on your honest opinions of your ownership of the Nissan. It is a good thing to have different opinions to keep everyone informed.
Ummm adding the chip to the Ford will still not help the Ford. It will take a Supercharger to even be close to the Titan in performance.

Nissan is better than any american vehicle and right behind Toy and Honda in resale value. It only requires 87 octane as well.

I see the rapid demise of this thread upon us...

PLEASE steer the course. I've watched this one since conception and truly believe that this is one of the ONLY Titan vs. F-150 based threads that has EVER survived this long within this forum. To avoid getting it closed, let's make sure we keep it on the positive side and not bash your roomie for the fat chick... doh... did I say that out loud? LOL! (great analogy by the way).
