Who has had there Vibe fixed?????

Can you post what kind of vibe you had:

- steering nibble or

- chassis vibe felt in the seat and floorboards

and what the fix was.

This would be great to have this info in one post instead of doing endless searches and reading

Thanks

Tjaas,

I had mine fixed by the DSB. New 2005 Lariat with no vibes.

Can you get rid of your new truck in trade for a 2005???

I am waiting for the Sales Mgr. to call me today, I am going to press him for that. I shouldn't have to go through this again.
I've only had the truck for 2 weeks.

Press for a 2005. Somone else that posts here had a truck for a short time that had a vibration. They got a replacment truck without going through the DSB process.

I had the vibe in the chassis. I felt it from about 50 to 65 and then again from 80 and up it was real bad. The vibe was there weather I accelerated or coasted, even with the gear selector in neutural. They told me that a clip that was holding the u-joint in was not in correctly but what I found out when I got the work order that they replaced the whole rear driveshaft/u-joint assy. Vibe free ever since!!

Tjaas,

Yes that was it. Dana. Couldn't think of the persons name.

Push man.....push. You shouldn't have to go through this thing twice. I would be raising heck with the dealer if I was in your position.

The FSE has the power to replace the truck. My dad got his 97 F-150 replaced by the same FSE who said my 04 truck vibrations were normal. I had to go to the DSB.

I had the steering wheel nimble and I could watch my bed shake from the mirrors at 57 mph to about 66 mph..

Few weeks later it just stopped and I've been vibe free ever since and Ive had my truck a good month now I'd say so who knows? But all I've got to say is I love this truck with or without the vibe but without the vibe this grin is so much bigger!

My wife picked up my truck today. They have had it since December 15. She says she can't feel anything. I will drive it tomorrow and see for myself. Three driveshafts, cab mounts, transmission mounts, re-indexing (whatever that is), inspected rear chunk for run out, re balanced tires (fourth time), two new rear tires, service rep told me on the phone that they Raod Force Balance 18 points lower than the ones they took off the truck. And yes, I am going to rotate my tires as soon as I get it. Fingers crossed.

I had the vide at 50 to 60 in the floorboard and the seat under power. If you let off the gas it would go away. It would rattle the change in the ash tray. Whole new rearend replaced and now I am vibe free!

My 04 STX Blazing Yellow truck has had the following replaced.

Entire rear end - Still vibrated after installation.

Entire driveshaft & u-joints, carrier bearing etc... - Still vibrates.

Road force balancing yada, yada, yada.

It will be going back in next week. It seems some folks are getting past the vibration issue which is great, but not me.

I had my Vibe greatly reduced. They replaced the driveshaft, body mounts, transmission mounts, bed mounts and then road forced balanced the tires. Once all that was done it still vibed pretty bad in my seat and the floorboards. I had the rear tires road balanced again while I watched and the left rear tire was at 29lbs! They replaced the tire and made the vibration all but go away. There is still a little nibble in the steering wheel so I took it back today to see if they can recheck the front tires and possible replace them if necessary.

I’ve got/had the steering wheel nibble that is/was fixed as long as I keep the stock wheels and tires on it. With my after-market set, the nibble is pretty bad at 65-75 even though I’ve had all 4 tires Road Forced and replaced two of them.

I beginning to think that Ford has a solution because the 05s don’t have the same degree problems. It just might not be cost effective to fix the afflicted trucks though. Something along the order of a new frame might be the only real solution. So they’re replacing the ones that can win the DSB and buying more time with TSBs and extending the warranty on tires.
