How come it does that? :)
How come it does that? :)
I've seen someone else on here mention this...I think.
I have teh 35.7 gallon tank. I never run it low, but today I did. It took 32 gallons to fill it up. When I got in the truck (had the key in my pocket while filling) I noticed the gauge was still on E after starting the truck. Not until I drove home (about 30 miles) did it finally reach FULL. It creeped up little by little.
What's up with that? I don't care that it did it, but it's just weird.

what gas tank recall? My truck has 2500 miles on it and the gas guage wierds me out. It shows a quarter of a tank and then i get in it and it shows less than a quarter. I drive 50 miles and it stays in the same position. I think maybe it is busted and I am empty. Fill up the tank and only get 18 gallons. WTF...
Sounds like the sender is bad, I'd take it into the dealer and have them fix it and use the warranty, thats what its for. That recall isnt for the sender, it was for a fire hazard on like 250 trucks only I think.

Yeah, probably not. That's why I worded my statement the way I did.
Never said anything about a sender. I just remember it said something about the gas tanks possibly leaking where the two halves join together at that seam. So, I thought maybe it could effect the fuel gauge somehow.
But, if it's only for the F-250s then....My Bad!!!
