Question Possible Suspension Bind?

2 questions:

I recently went off roading in my '04 FX4 in the So. Calif. desert. I noticed on several occasions a loud thunk from the rear of the truck. I suspect rear suspension bind.

1) Could this be a correct analysis/what else could it be?

2) Should I be concerned?

Thanks,
Tim

'rear suspension' consists of leaf springs and shocks. What exactly do you suspect to be binding?

I don't know what, if any, mods you've made and how you were driving, but when I take mine to certain limits the front inboard tires tend to brush then bind on the inner fender when making a sharp turn under full compression at speed. Of course the 35" tires don't help with the OEM front suspension even w/ the Autospring leveler. The rears feel like they brush against the chassis, causing them to hop under the same conditions. When it happens I assume that the suspension has just reached its limit of travel due to my choice of tire size.

It's certainly not as bad as my Cobra's old OEM quadra-bind rear suspension.

Truck is totally stock. I assume the leafs may be binding due to over extension while traveling slowly over some whoops.
