deepest snow

Just wondering what the deepest snow you guys drove through with your 4x4 150 with a LS. Do you guys think the truck can get stuck in a foot of snow on a dirt road?

wasachevyguy,

Grear looking truck. I sure like the steering wheel cover, is that stock or did you add. I don't like the feel of my wheel, feels like plastic, cold in winter, hot in summer.

If your wheels can get traction (even if it means digging them down to the dirt) the truck should have no problem

Had 10 or so inches here earlier this year and had no problem what so ever. With gentle throttle I could make it anywhere I wanted in 2wd (flat here and have aftermarket tires but don't think it mattered that much).

thanks for the compliments wrench. my steering wheel has a wheelskin on it. it's a eurotone (two-tone) ordered right from their website. i couldn't believe how well their charcoal/gray combo matched the XLT interior. it feels and looks stock because it is stiched on VERY tightly. i'm a big guy, and i put all my weight into pulling on each stich. the waxed thread they provide is extremely strong so you really don't have to worry about it snapping from too much pressure. i highly recommend this product to all XL, STX, and XLT owners.

I dont mean to be an a$$ but your gallery doesn't show any deep snow. It looks like you had maybe an inch. Maybe I missed something here. Ill check your gallery again.

1 inch is deep for Canadians because it's equivalent to 25.4mm and 25.4 is the most intimidating number to all Canadians.

To help you out some...we've been dealin' with 22.3" (official at the airport) of snow here....drifts over 4 to 5 ft.
My FX4, 5.4, 3.73 rear end with LS dealt with it fine...I was one of the volunteers who helped get Docs, Nurses, Homeless Shelter workers, etc. into their respective sites to work. We've been in a state of emergency (still are in the County we live in).
In fact, my '04 FX4 walked through stuff while going around a couple of Chevy Siverardo Z71s and a couple more Dodge Ram 4x4s. I think it was the drivers in those others, not really the trucks though.
These over 3 ton behemouths can do a lot of work in harsh settings. So, go have confidence in your truck.

While it wasn't a foot... my truck giggled at inclines of 25% and better with 10" of snow/ice.

I bet your glad you got the new king ranch 4x4 after all, with all that mess. Somehow we got rain up here in east ky and the western part got hammered.

I told my wife early on in the buying process that I was springing for 4wd. She baulked at the idea pointing out that I had a 2wd and had never even thought about the need of 4wd previously.

Don't you think for a single minute that I hesitated to remind her about the 4wd purchase while we were crawling down the Western Kentucky Parkway at 20 mph in 4-HI...

We definitely got HAMMERED... 10" here at the house... 22" back home for Christmas. What was typically a 2.5 hour drive turned into a 6 hour drive. Probably was a poor decision to have gone home in it but, I felt MUCH more secure about the decision with the 4-HI locked in...

4wd paid for itself this Christmas.

2 feet - no problem!

I went through 2 feet of snow with no problem at all. Check my previous post about the FX4 that rocks in the snow!
