2004 F150 - anyone have these issues?

2004 F150 FX4 Supercrew, 12months old, 16,000 miles

Anyone have anyone of the following issues/problems?

1. Squeeking (like a cricket) noise comming from the bed when my power rear cab window is open (see my detailed post, search for "sqeek" )

2. Rear-main Seal Leak, back of the engine where it mates to the Trans, Ford has replaced the seal 3 times now...

3. Rougher shift transitions between 30-60 mph.. was smooth when new, now seems to "jolt" and is louder when the trans shifts.. especially when I want to accelerate to pass, and the trans drops down a gear, the whole truck "jolts" pretty decently.. cant remeber it doing that when newer...

4. Increased ride vibration - now I can noticibly see the steering wheel vibrate back and forth even when going 40-50mph.. I can feel it in my knees too.. dont think this is as bad as what everyone has been hyping about with the "bad vibration", this is a light to moderate vibration.. but, worries me, becuase it wasnt there before..

5. Backup Radar - going toally haywire once in a while for no apparent reason! ??

6. EVERTHING GETTING LOUDER - remember they advertised the "Silent Steel" , super quiet cab... well, it was when new!.. seems that I can hear all the wind, road noise, and squeeks alot louder now with some mileage on it.. maybe this is normal, but i think its to a greater degree than expected..

7. Sunroof interior trim/liner - the molding on the inside of the sunroof has become "wavy" and seems to be comming loose!!

I might be a bit critical, but for my pride and joy toy, I think it's acceptable.. just not the same truck as a year ago.. and I only have 16,000 miles!... whats gonna happen at 50k!?

Other than the above points, the truck is the best vechile I've ever owned... love it.

Ideas/Opinions/Feedback???
Thanks!

kbizkits,
While reading your post I started laughing. Not at you, but with you. Every one of those issues is a valid concern. I take pride in my baby too and I'd hate to see her start falling apart on me like that. I've owned mine for about 10 months now and its got about 13,000 miles on it. I havent noticed anything, not even the "vibration" problem that everyone is having. Maybe the whole tranny issue I would take to the dealer ASAP. You spent a pretty penny on that bad boy and you want it to last. I guess the reason why I started laughing is because it sounded like pure paranoia. Ford isnt out to get us man. I'm sure they will take care of any issues you have. Big or small. But untill 50k miles, keep your chin up. We all have to go through the feeling of your trucks growing up.

Regards,
Tlouie32

4. I had the vibration issue momentarily a few months ago and I took it into Ford and I believe they replaced quite a few parts in the back end but not sure of the details (I have to look on my receipt). Seems to have fixed the problem. Either that I don't notice it anymore.

5. Are you talking the rear sensors? Mine were haywire from Day 1 for a couple of months. Took about 3 trips to the dealer to fix it. I believe they replaced all the sensors.

7. My moonroof molding on the inside is also "wavy". Haven't reported it to my dealer yet. Probably will next I take it in for service.

1. No, but the HVAC fan does make a squeeking sound at times.

2. Don't know, haven't looked lately. However, my pinion seal does leak a little.

3. Superchip shifts here!

4. Yeah, some vibe as well.

5. My RSS was false alarming wildly for a time. Now it doesn't work at all.

6. I agree. My truck is all around noisier than when new.

7. Damn, mine too. My 2001's sunroof trim was wavy also.

8. For 10 bonus points! Does your truck make a clunking noise on take-off? Mine sounds like it's coming from the front right suspension.

If I didn't know better, I'd think my Lariat was slowly turning to junk!

Oh well. My trucks still LOOKS good!

Nope.. no clunking noise on takeoff....

I've got the 5.4 (answering from a few posts up)...

Does everyone goto the same dealer, and, is that assumedly the same dealer you bought from??
My problem is that I move every 4-6 months,... so I've had 3 dealers work on my truck, never the same one, and none the dealer of sale, so I think I'm loosing a bit versus the care my original dealer would have given...

I'm gonna it in soon, and tell him to check/fix all the things I listed originally in this thread..

BTW, I've heard there is a recall/fix on the FUEL TANK, it can start fire when the truck is not running,, ---->>> anyone heard this?!?

I have a vibe in my steering wheel between 55-60, but its so slight, I dont even notice it. Nobody that has ever driven my truck has noticed it. I can live with it. I dont even notice it anymore.
