Anybody's truck catch on fire yet
Most likely someone wired there own stereo and caught the alternater on fire....I have seen this on some older expeditions with 10 subs and 20 tv screens, but nothing on the 04's... And I work at a Ford dealer, there would have been an article on the dealer homepage... I think its BS!!!

THIRTY-THREE OF THE INCIDENTS WERE REPORTED TO ODI WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS. ALL OF THE INCIDENTS OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE IGNITION OFF. TWENTY-FOUR OF THE FIRES ALLEGEDLY ORIGINATED IN THE LEFT-REAR QUADRANT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND 16 OF THESE REPORTED CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE PRIOR TO THE FIRE, A SYMPTOM OF A SHORTED SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH. THREE OF THE FIRES CAUSED STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE COMPLAINANTS HOME. "Not" finding info is based upon the assumption that this thread was supposedly talking about 2004-2005 trucks, not 5-8 year old ones.



Good thing for GAP insurance.
