I read last night on another Ford truck site that there is two new TSB's that were released yesterday for driveline vibration and steering wheel nibble. I actually downloaded the PDF's from the same poster's site. I think this should help some of you that have these two issues. Very interesting reading. I have the PDF files and could send them to someone to post here if interested. Moderators????

What fixes are different in these TSBs vs the older ones?
Unfortunatly my new truck has the vibration most noticably at 50-60. Its not horrible but defenitly noticeable.
I was hoping they would replace these driveshafts with an aluminium version to cut down on some of that rotating mass. Guess not.

I've been lurking this site after about 2 weeks in my new truck, thinking I was nuts for feeling what I was feeling. Turns out I'm a member of the vibe tribe too. When towing the 4k+ lbs that I tow, the vibration is horrendous. It's there the rest of the time too, but it's at a level to not tick me off all the time - I can tune it out if I want to, but I shouldn't have to.
I've been patiently waiting for a fix or new TSBs, and I'm grateful these new tsbs are out. The TSBs list several interesting possible fixes depending on the symptoms:
- A new carrier (center) bearing (new one is "symmetric") for trucks with a 2 piece driveshaft
- Repair of the U-Joint (or replace the driveshaft)
- Driveshaft runout
- Driveshaft imbalance
- Axle gearset pitch line runout (only for trucks that vibrate during accel/decel)
- Transmission imbalance/runout (vibe changes in/out of overdrive)
The one thing that did cheese me off a bit was that somewhere in one of the TSBs, it said that using a hose clamp on the driveshaft to bring it into balance was an acceptable fix. Talk about a "duct tape and bailing wire" solution!
Find the other forum and download the TSB's they are very enlightening!

I actually haven't towed in my truck yet, so although the vibration is present it isn't horrible. Its actually more anoying than anything and this truck only has 200 miles on it.
I love this truck but when I watch the bed shake back and forth it drives me nuts. If it didn't ride like it was on glass at say 30 miles per hour I wouldn't mind as much, but I know how smooth this truck can and should ride at all speeds.
People like jpdadeo are just ignorant, and when something happens to his truck I sure hope he doesn't come here posting a problem.

Thanks for the updated TSB's.
My vibrating Blazing Yellow STX is in the shop as we speak concerning the vibration. I just had a new set of Nitto Terra Grapplers road force balanced and installed and all seemed to be well.
Then over the weekend I hooked my 1,000 utility trailer to it with no load on it and drove 20 miles to a garden center. Just pulling the empty trailer was disturbing. My wife commented that the tires were not balanced and I commented that it's only doing it with a trailer. We were trying to decide which interior door panel was going to fall off first due to the vibration. It was RIDICULOUS.
The dealer called this morning and said they had sensors on it and they were about to start testing it. I gave them the new TSB's and hopefully this will get them going in the right direction.
Also, the dealer said that they have a ratio of 1 out of every 8 trucks they sell vibrates. My truck is 1 of 3 in their shop currently for the a vibration issue.
Since I had my tires installed just a few days ago and road force balanced, I have at least avoided them having to go through that step. They seem to be going straight to the driveline and not playing with the wheels and tires.

Good for you, you have a great truck! The rest of us don't need reminded of that, or that you find the vibration threads to be boring and/or unnecesary.
I hope that I can eventually say that I have no problems too, but I won't be flaunting it in other's faces when I do.
