vibration (tires)

has anyone been told that the reason for their vibration has been the tires,THE CONTENETIALS (i can't spel) and they would do a road force test to determe if they would warrenty them. if so my back one's may be bald when they get them.

ummm, roadforce balancing detecting bad tires has been a major thing used to fix certain types of 04 vibrations. do a search on road force balance and you will find more info than you know what to do with.

IMHO there are many brands and styles of tires that have imperfections in the larger (17"-18") sizes which end up causing vibrations. Anyone remember any such vibration issues when 235/75-15 was the standard tire size for ALL half ton pickups? The tire manufacturers had that size down pat. Now they are struggling to make decent tires in these larger sizes specified by Ford, Chevy and Dodge. I have a vibe in my 02 Lariat which I think is 100% tires (Goodyear Eagle II). The dealer balanced them 3 times before my warranty ran out and then told me 'tuff chit, it's within spec'. A thousand miles later I rotated them myself (again) and the vibration changed. Now I can't drive 60-75 mph. It's either 55 or 80, in between will rattle your teeth.

Anyone want a set of Goodyear tires with 75% tread?

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes! Everybody at the Ford dealer told my my steering wheel vibration was caused by the tires being unbalanced. Road Force made it much worse. You couldn't even hold the steering wheel still. The FSE said it wasn't the tires so if you have the shaking steering wheel, it's most likely not the tires.
