It's tough man... it's very tough. I want my HID back or, at the very least, more brillant bulbs. It really stinks that Silverstars won't be made in our config... I'd like to send an extra special screw-you out to the NHTSA for that one.

I know... I know... all things have reasons but, that doesn't help me on my quest.

Bulbs or a true HID kit? They are two very different beasts.

They look HID'ish' to me... always hard to tell in pics though... but, since you went through the trouble to post them, I'm going to lean towards the HID.

Oh how I miss them...

HIDs?

9007 bulbs are not HID.

Did you buy a kit that retro'd the 9007 with an on board transformer?

I only question this because HIDs are known to blink once or twice before continuous illumination. Alot of bulb manufacturer will call a Xenon gas filled bulb HID, but it really isn't. HIDs have no filament. They have a gap between the electodes. They also need HV Xformers, either as part of the bulb assembly, or in line before bulb.

Again, I'm just asking because I haven't seen any kits that just plug in to the same socket that a standard bulb come out of. If there is one, I'd like to get them for my wifes Taurus, which uses the 9007s. How much were they? Where'd you get them?

Article about HID "conversions"

I found an interesting article about HID "conversions" or retrofit kits while surfing today. Here is the link: HID retrofits

Good info. for those considering this option.
