Door ajar warning
Door ajar warning
Over the past few weeks whenever it is colder out and my truck has been siting outside for awhile, when i start it up i get the door ajar warning and it wont go away no matter how hard a close the doors. After the truck has warmed up for it goes away and doesent come back until another colder day. Its been doing this once the temperature drops below -10 deg celcius here in winnipeg. Has anyone else experienced this probleme?
Since we're talking about a switch here...I'd say maybe it's getting stuck. Maybe there's grease on it and the grease is getting sticky/thick when it's cold out...and so it sticks in the position that makes it think the door is open. Only problem with that theory is that you'd think if anything, it would stick in the OFF position...not open.
It's probably just a sticky door jamb switch. Try shooting some WD-40 at it and see if that solves it. Otherwise take it to your dealer and use that warranty.
BTW another theory is the wire on the switch is grounding out and giving the warning. That wouldn't explain why it happens only on a cold day here in Winterpeg, Manisnowba though.
