That swap is very easy. Some of the high end ones are hard to do. I have swapped Six changers, Mp3 CD player from a 0006, and the CD radio unit that came with my truck, just to experiment. They all swap back and forth.
There are some warnings on buying those. If you want to e-mail/instant message me, I can let you know a couple things before you buy one.
Chris

06 MP3 Mustang radio and 04 Lariat 6 changer on the bench. Both fit fine in any of the new models.

so the plugs should fit? and you don't have to take to the dealer to reprogram?

Watch out for the early model '05 Mustang Shaker 500/1000 "A" series head units....Ford had lot's of problems with the CD units in those...and is using a replacement "B" unit (in the part number) for customers that have the skipping and other CD issues.

Ok..kinda off track but still the same subject.....Can I put a radio from an 04-06 F150 into an 05 Five Hundred? Mom wants a 6 disc in dash radio. I figure I could get one off ebay, but I just want to make sure it will fit, the plugs will plug in and I dont have to do any programming or take it to the dealer to reprogram anything.

I am pretty sure that it will work, someone else may give you a more clear answer. If it does and you want a 6-disc with MP3 for her shoot me a message as I have one that I am wanting to sell as I just replaced it with a JVC KD-AR870. I am only goign to ask half of what i paid of it last year on eBay.
