Gas Mileage

Any one have fuel mileage reports for the 5.4.

I went on a small road trip of only 100 miles, 14.3 MPG, cruise was set @ 72 tail gate up and no bed cover.

I have a new 05 super cab 4X2 5.4 3.55 limited slip.

I only have 300 miles on this truck, I hope to get a higher MPG when this truck has more miles on it.

I have a 04 Screw Lariat 4x4, with about 1,300 miles on it. I get about 18.5mpg at 65mph. I think that will improve with more miles and a switch to synthetic oil.

I have a 2004 FX4 Screw (5.4L) and get about 12 mpg (up from 11 mpg) and have about 9,500 miles on the truck...I hope it continues to improve...by the way, most of my driving has been around town.

On my 2WD 5.4 w/3.55s, the best I've averaged was about 21 mpg unloaded at 60-65 mph. The worse, about 10-11 loaded up with a 5x8' U-Haul trailer doing 80 or so.

I get a solid 16mpg local driving and it jumps up when I hit the highway. It wasn’t that way when it was new, mpg stunk. I got about 13,000 on it now.
I got a 3:55 rear, that helps with mpg

Winter's Back!!!

yee-haa.

Back to 9-11 mpg

I was kind of enjoying the 12 - 13 mpg I was getting in the summer. Oh well. 11k on the truck. Just switched to synthetic. Hope that helps.

Either way,

DAMN, I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!!

It's just amzing to me the broad range of MPG. Is it altitude and thin air? Heavy foots? just big beast vehicles(4x4 screws) compared to smaller ones(2wd reg cabs)?
