I have a flowmaster 40 series muffler with custom bent pipes. It's supposed to be the loudest one they make and it sounds fantastic outside of the truck. From inside the truck, I can't hear it as much as I would like, I just don't know how to make it louder.

Change the cats to some high-flow cats, shorty headers, and no, you dont have the loudest flowmaster, they make a 30 series that is luder, it is a race muffler. They tell you it is illegal but in most states, changeing your stock exhaust is illegal period, even if the muffler is approved by al 50 states fro emission control. It is just not a priority to most officers. But since you already have the 40 series on there, leave it, make sure if you went duals, they removed the tie in between the 2 pipes just behind the cats. Then do either one of the 2 thing above and youll get alot more sound. I personally went true duals and have my cats and headers on order right now.

KaNigIt:

If you've got dibs for the parts then I won't snag them from you. I thought you had decided on the other option. Besides, I don't even know which forum you're referring to!

This should increase your power about what, 10-15% & allow for more air flow for when you save some more cash to get the tuner. I'm 18 & just bought an '04 XLT, 4x4, 4.6l dandy P/U...muffler & intake will be my first purchases I believe, this way when I can afford the tuner, the tuner will hopefully be able to increase my performance more than if everything else was just stock.
You neeed to shop around bro. I bought my flowmasters (40 series)for 68 bucks each, and I would go with a Mac cold air intake for 139 bucks and get the same performance as a K&N or any of the others that run as high as 300 bucks.Do not always trust that the online prices are the lowest. I have bought most the parts for my truck from a local company called American Motorsports. They normally are quite a bit lower than anything I find online.
