Tire Pressure.

Tire pressure was low thanks to the cold air moving into the the area. Check that tire pressure boys and girls.... Do it for the sake of .25 miles per gallon.. $$$$$ Not too mention tire life....

tire pressure

I have mine set at 40 psi and the ride is a lot stiffer and the truck seems to lose traction around corners with bumps. I think from the dealer the pressure was set very low to soften the ride.

Anyone else have similar handling characteristics with 40 psi?

I noticed that when i took delivery of my F-150, all 4 tires were at ~30 psi. I'm sure it softens the ride a bit for prospective customers. I was a little surprised how different the truck felt at 35 psi (where it belongs). No complaints. I didn't buy the FX4 to get a "Grandma" car!

My dealer had mine at 32. The tire itself says inflate to 50 but the back of the fuel door and the vehicle specs sticker inside the door says to put them at 40. I put them at 40. (These are the 18 inch Goodyears.)

Red face One or the other..

Have mine all at 35# for daily driving. This seems to be about right. I run the front to 45 and rear to 55 when I tow my TT.

If I forget to lower after towin it will beat me to death! If I park the TT for a few days I lower it and then pump em up before hookin up again.

It's funny, I was just reminded of this very thing--cold weather& lower tire pressure-- after I woke up to flat spots on the way to work yesterday. Felt like I was driving a jeep...

Every one was exactly 6 pounds below normal.

Suspension Setup Not so Great?

Remeber the commercial about the placement of the shocks and the Ford looking so smooth over the mechanical bumps. I feel like the other "bouncing like crazy" truck when I go over bumps with the TP at 40 PSI (which is on the door jam). I have the goodyears. I put the TP to 40 because my I am only getting 11.5 MPG, and thought it might help.
