Something wrong?

I have dropped my Tp down to 33 and I still get a wheel hop feeling when going over bumps. I am in New England and the roads are pretty crappy with pot holes and such. But even driving on bridges, when going over the joints where the sections merge., it feels like the ruck is slipping when I go over them. When I do carry a moderate load this all goes away. I just keep thinking about that stupid commercial of the rear axle and how smooth the suspension is and thinkink B S!

Any ideas.

35 psi feels about right to me. Higher pressure makes the ride rougher IMHO. The truck does get jiggly over bumps. Truck rides more smoothly if the fuel tank is full, too. (I've noticed on long trips.)

I think it rides great for a truck.

The first day that it dropped to 5 degrees I went and filled to 38. They were reading 20 even though at 60 degrees they had read 35. They cold weather sure does make a difference. The truck rides rougher but it handles a lot better. I have 300 lbs of sand in the back to keep it from hopping around on potholes/corners. I am getting about 16.5 mpg on winter gas. In the summer I get about 17.5 to 18 mpg.

I checked my tire pressure shortly after arriving home with the new truck and mine was set at 40 psi. The tire (Michelin) sidewall states 35 psi, so I adjusted to 35 and haven't looked back. seems to ride smoothly to me.

Front Passenger Side - 22 PSI

maybe it's me

I drive with an empty bed and maybe that's my problem. Feels like the truck is going to shake off the road when going over bumps. No controll what so ever. Now my gas miliage is for sh*t too. I am only getting 11-12 mpg. Can't imagine what it would be with 300 lbs in the back.

I think the suspension stiffins up in the cold. The shocks, bushings etc.

Just a thought

I have 285/70R17 Goodyear MTR's and it reads max psi-65 lbs on the side of the tire. I have them at 50 psi.
