Fog Lights and High Beams

Ok, I did a search and found one solution, but I was hoping there's another. I want to be able to have my fog lights on with my high beams. It's almost a necessity for me. Every night I drive down a long deer populated stretch of unlit parkway home from work. I want the highs and the fogs on.

With my 02 Sport Trac it was very simple: http://mysporttrac.com/shared/projects.asp?VIEW=256

Is there some way to do that type of mod on an 05 F-150? Until Piaa comes out with a set of Xtreme Whites for the 05, I want the extra light.

Thanks in advance

-PJ

I am thinking about doing this mod. Doing this doesnt cause any problems with power or anything, does it?

check with your local police first.

It's illegal in many jurisdictions to use both at the same time.

I don't think it would cause any power problems, never had on my Sport Trac.

As far as I know there's no law against that in New York. But even if there was, they wouldn't stop you for just that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't driving with your high beams on into oncoming traffic already illegal?

Again we all want this feature fore RURAL MOUNTAINOUS settings. Not where there is a lot of traffic.

Driving with your high beams on is not illegal in VT. It will however probably get you a closer look by a Trooper. Driving with both high beams and driving lights is not illegal either.

It also may make it harder for you to have an inspection done, as it's a no-no in the inspection manual.

What's a quota??

I don't think anybody wants them on every time the high beams are on, we (I at least for sure) would like to be able to turn them on whenever we like (as we can now), we just don't want them to turn off when we hit the hi-beams. If we want to have hi's with no fogs, then we just push the switch back in and turn off the fogs. This would actually be a better thing than the lows/highs at once relay thing as that is irreversable without changing wiring. This is what I want at least...

I could care less. Everything else I do is illegal too! 100watt fog lights, tinted front windows, tinted tailights, dice from rear view, no front license plate, etc. I could go on, but I wont. Most of the time cops wont give you a problem. I have been pulled over my fair shair and have had no problems. Yet. lol.

umm, no I don't--the existing switch is electrically identical to a SPST toggle switch. The problem is a relay kills the ground. putting another toggle switch on there will do nothing, as there would be no current to switch on when the highs are activated...
