Stupid Question? Tools
Ok being a former import guy, all my tools were Metric size sockets, wrenches and what not, Ford still uses standard sizes right? Which sizes are used most? Flame suit on.
I never understood the whole metric/standard crap... I mean, they both have an equivilent size..
Take the decimal measurement of your standard socket and mulitply by 25.40... ta-da! Yeah, it may be a ½ mm off, but who cares? It fits like a glove!!
Can't we all just get along?

Metric on a standard nut fits like a sheepskin glove. Just be ready for the pain when you smash your knuckles when it slips off.
You want it to fit like OJ's glove.
Why do they have to have mixed nuts on the same truck.

I think Ford is in with Craftsman or Snapon and mixed the sizes so we would have to buy more tools. The screws inside the front fender wells were standard, under the hood seems to be a mix so far.
Don't ever mix Metric and SAE.
You can get away with it once or twice on bolts > 32 mm but its not a smart thing to do. You will damage the bolt, especially if you are using air.
Look at it this way. You spent serious $ on your vehicles, are you so cheap that you can't spend a couple hundred for the tools to work on them?
Seriously.

If I'm not mistaken, the oil drain plug is standard - not metric. Just one example. I usually use a 15mm on the drain plugs on the 2 GM's we have...but I couldn't find a metric to fit the F150 drain plug well.
