Fuel Injector Cleaner Additive

Is there a need for fuel injector cleaner/additive for gas. I thought this type of product was used more several years ago than today? Has anything changed about this or fuel injectors getting dirty?

Buy better gas and you won't have to worry about your injectors. By the time you need to worry about them you'll be getting a new truck anyway...

Most of those fuel/oil additives are a joke...

Agreed. Stay away from those discount gas stations! I had one around the corner where the owner used to shovel snow into his tanks in the winter! Just to avoid having to buy a full tank of fresh fuel fom his supplier.

Never found an additive that did what it said. Biggest scam going!

Chevron Techron.

Good stuff.

You can get it at a decent price at Sams Club.

Is there a concensus on who makes the best fuel? Around here, I see a lot of Texaco, Mobil and Chevron.

Those are all safe bets for gas. I used to like Amaco fuels until BP got a hold of them... Bastards!

Shell usually have good stuff as well. Run away from the mom & pops, Clarks, Speedways, Gas 'n Gos, etc..

Granted a tank here and there from a crappy station isn't going to ruin anything, but repeated use of poor gas over time has it's effects...

Snow is not the only thing that needs shoveling

I buy the cheapest gas I can find.

I use Chevron's Techron just before every other oil change (every 10,000 miles, just before I change the oil).

I agree with TUFF. Have any of you guys ever been to a tank farm? There will be like 40 semi tankers loading from the same 3 million gallon tank every hour! only the big name brands are seperate, all the others are for "discount" stations...
