I am not trying to be a ****, but when someone is excited to but the skyjacker 3 in kit, like myself and then here you come bashing it. You said you might as well get a spacer and spend a lot less, and that the skyjacker is basicaly pointless. I dont know. It just pisses me off when people are so damn critical. And me being a junior member has nothing to do with my credibility, you just happend to have known about this sight before me. Your truck is pretty nice and it seems like you got a good deal, but not all of us can find those deals. Also, lifting a truck is not exactally as safe as a stock truck. so just replaceing the struts and add a leaf is a safer deal for me. I am just throwing that out there. So sorry if i affended anybody, and dont jump down my throat eddy, this is a open ended critical forum right.

Sorry to offend you. If you would like the 3" go with it. Again dont settle. Like I said before if you are getting it for the "look" and the purpose then I will again reccomend the 3" body lift since you will actually gain 3". The 3" skyjacker kit will not...I repeat will not lift your truck 3", the same as a 6" lift didnt raise my truck 6". The 3" lift will probably raise the front 3" and the rear 1" (I havent researched it). So in the end you are only 1/2 inch difference than a daystar kit and it cost you 3 times as much.
Like I said before...if you want the look and not the functionality then go with a body lift. If you want more articulation larger track and a more functional offroad suspension then go with the suspension lift.
Good luck to whatever you all chose.
And yes Hossbog I take your membership status seriously. Guys that have been here for a long time and contributed a lot have more crediblity than a new member you comes out swinging. I havent even been here that long but I have signed on DAILY and contributed a great deal to this site.
This is an open forum, feel free to post and do as you like (as long as RP says so).
Good luck with everything, post what you decide with pics too.

I have a few questions, and while searching I came across this thread and figured it was a good one to bring back...not that I want to see Eddy go Jamzwayne on Hossbog, but there were a few points and comments made I would like to get cleared up. First..did Skyjacker redesign this lift from its inception way back when? is it better, worse, the same? Was it just an upgraded shock? I have only found 2 guys so far with this lift, anyone else have it other than SVTErick and ...(well I forgot who else)

If I was planning on going with a levelng kit, but now I want to upgrade my shocks, would I be better off doing just that, or going with this Skyjacker kit? Im not looking to lift my truck 5 or 6 inches. I really just want the leveled look with some 33"tires, but if I could get just a little more lift than the level kit with this 3"skyjacker kit, than that would be fine also. Im closing in and I can see the finish line, EDDY your advice is well taken about saving the money and do what you want the first time. Im hoping to have my rims and tires and either level kit or lift kit all at once in the next few weeks. Any help here would be appreciated fellas.

what i've heard is skyjacker tends to sag. also the long term issues of when its time to replace shocks??? you cant you gotta buy another kit. I'm going with the autospring kit because its an above the spring spacer (still get full articulation) and for the life of the truck you still have a bazillion options for after market or replacement shocks

3in Skyjacker

I was considering buying this kit. What did you mean when you stated it would sag?

its a nice kit i have seen one in person and it is definately better looking than just a leveling kit IMHO... after seeing it tho i think that a 6inch might be more my style... i still think 35s would fit no problem tho!

Holy dead thread batman!

Almost 5 years. Good one.

If the Skyjacker kit is even still out there, absolutely not. It's doing the same thing to your CV angles that leveling kits do, and adding a spacer would probably cross the physical limits of the suspension.
