I'm all about no muffler at all

The magnaflow setup I had though was great. Got many compliments on the sound and was very quite inside the cab for being a straight through exhaust.

You might want to look into what bullit4711 is recomending. I have never heard it, but he praises it alot. Worth the research I would imagine.

I had flowmaster 40 series on my big block truck, and I refuse to put them back on.

OK So this is YOUR opinion according to your comment, but thats no reason to just reply to a post with Flowmasters suck! So I like old school technology and I happen to like the way my truck sounds with them besides not everyone has $400+ to spend on a magnaflow or a ravin exhaust setup, I wish people would think about there comments before they type them!

I said sound was IMO... Everything else is fact.

I wish people would READ other peoples comments before they type theirs!

Preformace wise.
Just to give you an idea. I usually get 375 miles to a tank of gas. The last two tanks I got 450 miles. Most of that is highway driving. The milage is a great plus. I am still looking for a way to make the sound in the cab quiter.
Good Luck.

Can you say "Dynomax" Ultra flow straight thru design, siso, awesome sound at any rpm. They sound nice on my 68 stang jcode as well, no power loss here. The most underrated, never mentioned muffler.

I have bullets on my turbocoupe, and will put one on my pace car. Those straight through mufflers are the best out there IMO.

get the muffler that makes you happy

get the muffler that you like the best and go with it. Any two mufflers on the same truck isn't going to make that much of a difference on the same truck, maybe 5-7 hp from the worst to the best and that is probably @ 5000 rpm. Plus on most boards when you purchase the most popular brand, it always sucks. If everyone had borla, borla would suck. If everyone had magnaflow, magnaflow would suck. You always have individuals that want to try and be different no matter what. Its stupid, get what makes you happy in sound and looks and don't worry about the 2.6 hp.

I had a flomaster 40 series installed, (just replaced the muffler), in my opinion, to much sound drone in the cab.
When ive got money to burn, im going to replace it with something alittle more mello.

I have the Flowmaster series 70 DIDO with the 2.5" [i[es exiting out the rear. The sound is not obtusive in the cab even with the windows down, granted if you tromp on the das it will be load till you get to your cruising speed then the tone settles back to a mellow sound. Best bet is to talk to different folks and listen to different exhaust set-ups if you get the opertunity. I have used Flowmasters on 3 of my vehicles and they all sound good to me. I have a 94 Firebird that I run the 50 series on and it is a bit louder than either truck with the 70 series but then that is my sports car toy.
