In regards to the back of the rear seat: The installer I took my truck to for the installation of my stereo components was surprised he wasn't going to be able to install the subs behing the seat like he did on the heritage style F150s. He said the back of the seat was pretty flush to the wall and he would instead have to do it under the seat. So, that's what he did.

For reference, I have a Lariat Supercrew. I had a custom box made for a 10" Infinity Perfect the box takes up the entire space under the 60% seat (driver side rear and middle). The sub is firing down and sounds like two 12"s to my ears. Since the truck is lifted, I have no use for the jack that was underneath the passenger side rear. So, I took it out and the guy made an amp rack for the 2 Infinity Amps. One amp powers the sub, the other powers the Infinity Kappa components in the doors. The system sounds great. The head unit is an Alpine 9831. I chose that because I didn't want an LCD screen (won't use it). And, I wanted to be able to buy the Ipod interface kit that works with Alpines and will allow me to control everything on the Ipod through the Head Unit. So, I ran the wire for the Ipod to underneath the drivers seat where I have a soft case to keep it in place while driving around and it's not in the was or taking up storage space in the dash.
I am also planning on buying the Alpine Sirius Tuner as soon as it is available next month.

So all things considered. My truck looks completely stock except for the head unit. The iPod, amps, speakers, subs, and cds (since I don't need them) are all hidden.

Others here have done the same setup. (hint, look in my gallery)
Sounds like you have a nice setup going there. Get pictures up when you can.

well i had a thought...a crazy crazy thought...what if you put 2 inch spacers under where everything attaches to the truck. I would also need to somehow move the clips up where the back of the seat attaches. Am i crazy for even considering somethin like this?

The clips are part of the rear wall and arent moveable. You would have to make some new clips and install them higher. Then check the clearance between the seat back and the rear window.

Dupuis - Very nice setup! I like the idea on the amp rack. Mine is hidden, but that would have been a really cool way to go!
