recommendation: find the vehicle you want on their web site inventories, then ask their 'internet sales' person to give you a quote on it... i did all the haggling on mine via email, got a terrific price (well below invoice), and on the day i actually bought just had to go in and sign the contract.....

Regular cabs are nice but if you dont run a cap then S.C. is the way to go. Plenty of room for some large items and tons of bagged food items. Then you have the option of 4 people in cab for short runs three on long trip's.

recommendation: first figure out what vehicle you DO want so as to not waste time getting quotes and sharing information about vehicle's you DON"T want...

your choice on '04s probably is limited, but at this time of the year you ought to get a great price on one (assuming it's one you want....)

if you don't WANT the fx4 described above, but you would TAKE it for the right price, then offer 23k and hold... if you don't really WANT the vehicle, your bargaining position is strong....

You better buy the truck it's cheap. I have a FX4 and it.s base sticker is $33,335.00 . To get a FX4 at $29 base is astronomical Saving's

considering the low price i am getting quoted for my trade in and what i own, the rebates will wipe that out

i want to finance ~25,000 and have a regular cab 4x4 with power windows/locks

i got a '04 reg cab 4x4 xlt in mid-september for almost 10k less than sticker. other members have gotten similar deals.

if you find the truck you want, post the details here, or if you find on a web site inventory, the url.... good luck!

nice truck. i'm envious of the 5.4L

get the average 'trade-in' value of your car from kelly, nada and edmunds, then subtract your loan balance (which hopefully is much lower?) from the trade-in value and tell me that number? if you do that, i'll tell you what i'd offer for that truck...

I agree with the folks who said to shop dealer inventories on-line and decide what you want before chasing down quotes.

The prices in MA are in line with what most are posting here. I bought an STX SCab over Labor day weekend for about $8k below sticker without much fight from the dealer. Thinking about it now, I probably could have beat him down a little more.

I prefer the SCab, but I have a couple of teen daughters and sometimes need the extra seats. The extra space inside is nice to have so you don't have to throw things in the bed, but without the kids I could get by with either.

Good luck shopping.

The folks that are telling you to get an extended cab--Do they have new style '04 f150 reg cabs, or something else?

Reason I ask is I used to have a reg. cab truck years ago and swore I'd never have another reg cab truck. Next one was an extended cab midsize that didn't have much more room than my reg cab '04.

When I actually saw the space in the 04 reg cabs I said that's just right.

i am more confused than ever now

some people i work with say i dont want a truck, that they are a pain in the ***,

I live in Nebraska, I drive a Mustang (if you cant tell from my name) i have had mustangs for 4 1/2 years...never really had a big problem with snow untill last winter, i seriously got high centered all the time, i dont wanna go thru that again

i dont know if since i am getting older, i am realizing what is more practical

i appreciate everyones input, i have another forum that i would post on...however there are not alot of truck owners on there

all consumer rebates go to dealer. and there are 'hidden' rebates and other factory-to-dealer incentives that make it possible for the dealer to sell a vehicle for much less than invoice and still make a profit....

but being 5k in the hole on your current vehicle sort of limits your options.....
