where does it go?

Have an 04 lariat supercab with the floor shifter.

Just curious where you guys put a few things in the cab.

For those of you that carry a mag lite, anywhere special you mount this? In my '02 I could sort of put it under the floormat at the rear seat. Doesn't seem to stay there in the 04.

Anyone have a concealed carry permit? In the '02, there was the infamous "hole" off to the lower right of the steering column that would hold the handgun nicely. I don't have one in the 04. Don't think it would be wise to put it on the dash in the little tray!

Opinions??

the gun in the little tray would deter me. Kidding aside they sell car holsters for vehicle mount. I believe fobus makes one. Otherwise you can get a nylon holster and attach it between console and seat with a bit of velcro.

I carry my handgun in a holster on my belt. As for the maglite, I couldn't find anywhere either that it didn't roll around and make noise so unfortunately its in my tool box in the bed.

Handgun .. on belt as well

Mag lite.. I slid it between the driver's seat and the center console on the floor. It hooks just enough of the seat frame that I have not had a problem with it sliding

For the Maglite, I put it in the driver rear door pocket, along with the old t-shirt I use to check the oil. Doesn't roll around at all.

Keep my .45 in the center armrest thingy in my STX. Maglites (3 of them..all minis) are in the glovebox, arm rest and one under the hood held with heavy duty velcro

Thanks for the replies...

Have been putting the maglite in the rear door pocket as well w/ some rags I use for cleaning.

Been thinking about the handgun in the door pocket up front. Seems a little too low though. Will probably do a velcro somewhere or between the seat and console.

War? The world is a cold place, better bring your own heat.

A cop friend of mine has an 04 Expedition (undercover police vehicle) and has a gun holster made for the door panel pocket so he has easy access at all times. I love riding in that thing, cops put so much cool crap in those cars.

I don't have a gun to carry, but I do have a 4-cell MagLite in my truck. It fits nicely under the passenger side, rear seat, where the jack is. I thought it might make some noise when it bumped against the metal frame for the jack, but it doesn't, unless you are doing some rather bumpy off-roading. Seems to work well back there. I don't know if you are looking for an "Easy Access" area for it, but that is where I put mine.

My weapon stays on my hip. I've got a couple Streamlight LED flashlights, one in the front bin on the driver's door and another in the glovebox.

Mag sells mounting kits for their flashlights that you can install anywhere (maybe on the side of the console by your right leg?) The only "downfall" is the fact you will need to drill 4 holes (2 for each clip). Holds the flashlight super stug...no rattles or sliding. Really nice. Picked it up at Home Depot for like $5-$7.

rubrnek,

I second your recommendation for the Maglite mounting kit. As you can see in the pic below, I've got the bench seat and was able to attach the maglite in an easily accessible location. I only used one of the two clips (2 screw holes) and it holds the flashlight just fine. I'd hope there would be a decent place to attach the mount for anyone with the flow-through console, too...(?)

I do not currently "carry" in my truck, but here's the Fobus mount:
