There’s a thread somewhere about that in the 2004 forum. If I remember correctly, there was part of the window track that was out of place and had to be fastened so it didn’t rub the glass. If I find the thread, I’ll post it up for you.

I had the same prob with the ugly streaks. Took it to my dealer, they replaced the regulator and now I don't have anymore streaks.

If you don't have time to go to the dealer or you don't want them messing around inside your door. The Mr. Clean Magic eraser works fantastic on this grease. I have it on both window and every couple of days I take the eraser out of my center console wet it, ring it out and rub the stuff right off.

edit: I have the window tinted and it has caused NO problems with the tint film.

Door's

Guys... It seems as though some people in the forums get excited when the Dealers hack their turcks apart. These doors will never go back the same once opened up. The plastic gets cut and pasted back on... Those trim tabs will never fit the same again...

The dealer balanced my tires 4 or 5 times and I have the marks on my wheels to prove it...

My gas door broke, so they replaced the unit, and reused my gas door... Now my gas door has pry marks on it...

Unless you have major problems, or quick fixes, maybe hold off, use mr. clean or something...

My Ford dealership doesn’t have any incompetence problems. I’ve had my truck 10 month and had the tires rebalanced and rotated every 5,000 miles without incident. I’m sure there are some dealerships that are rough around the edges, to put it nicely, but there are good ones too, it’s just a matter of finding the right dealer.

Good Point. That's exactly why I do a thorough joint inspection with my service advisor before I leave the truck. Sometimes I take pics of the items being worked on just before I drop it off or sometimes I do it with the SA standing right there. That sends a clear message to them that I'm not F'ing around. I also ensure that I deal with the same SA each and every time that I go in, he knows/expects my routine.

I know it's a pain sometimes to get to the dealer but, you're either gonna spend your time at the dealer or spend your time fixing the problem yourself. Personally, I prefer to spend my time at the dealer. I've spent too much money on this truck to spend my time laboring on some sh*t that FoMoCo should be fixing.

When they did the work on mine, everything went back on just fine. Nothing broke or misaligned.
drillsgtjra, it's warranty work. Why not let the dealer fix it. If they break it they have to replace it. If you break it it comes out of your pocket.
I did watch them while they worked on mine. It is a pain in the butt to R&R the panels. Another reason for the dealer to do it.
