Just checked this morning through VOPC, and my '05 Lariat SCREW 4x4 is LOCKED IN FOR PRODUCTION the week of 9/20!!
Up until today, it was just "scheduled" to build that week and had been pushed back a couple times. VOPC also says its estimated to arrive at the dealership week of 9/27. I figure I'll be in my first truck by Oct 1!
Hopefully this means you won't be waiting til mid-december. If you have your DORA, I'd suggest checking VOPC yourself.

Now you've got my curiosity up. I'm going to drop by the dealer next week to check out some accessories for the new truck. Maybe they'll have some good news for me. Would'nt mind getting it a little sooner!
