Yesterday was my first day with the new FX4 Black Supercab Audiophile...last night I was at some friends and some jack$## ripped my temporary plate right off the plate bracket...unbelieveable..I get to go into the clerk and get another one Monday morning(dealer said they cant make more than one)...Has this happened to anyone else??? People have no respect I tell ya...
Sorry that happened...Be sure you report the lost to the police with the #'s...They just may try and use it and you will have the # on the police system...If they put you out give them back the same favour...
COFX4,
I was trying to figure out "WHY" someone would steal your plate. What is there for someone to gain other than just doing it to be a PITA??? Then it hit me that maybe they stole more than your "Paper Temp Plate"!
Here in TX, my name and the VIN # is on my temp tags. If Colorado does the same, then someone now has your VIN and could TRY to go to the dealer and get keys. A quick look in the phonebook or a search online (especially public records at the county) can tell them where you live.
This may be an unlikely scenario (Ford verifies ownership and requires ID when you go to the dealer to get keys) but I would be concerned to some extent. There seem to be different opinions on the possibility that this might really happen, but you may want to check out these threads---->

There was a more recent thread on here, but I can't find it using search. Just something to think about before some @$$hole loser tries to steal your ride.

I honestly just think it was someone just being a disrespectful jack@##. The tag was ripped off...i imagin eif someone wanted to use it they would have just unscrewed the two screws and taken it off nicely....but part of the top of the tag is still on the truck
The dealer told me they hear abotu that quite a bit, they told me the county clerk would make me a new one once i proved who i was. It does **** me off though, and i haven't been stopped yet!

I have one better, My tailgate got keyed. I live next to a high school and now sport a slight "04". My truck was less than a month old. I am thinking of having the "FOrd" and "f150" removed and having the truck pained white. Silver seemed ok but I see too many silver trucks on the road.

Dude, that would KILL your resell value! I would NEVER have a new truck painted a different color. Just my honest opinion. And look how many white trucks are on the road.......I bet it's more than silver.
