With the incentives the way they are now you may actually come getting a better deal on your new truck. May be a little more rebate available now as opposed to when you bought your 1st one.

And last I'm glad your still here to type the story to us. To think if you got hiy like that in a smaller vehicle or regular car by a car going 55 mph. That's real scary. Looks like your truck saved everyones life. I wouldn't want to be in a Geo Metro or any regular car after looking at your pictures.

And as others stated nothing is more important then your long term health.

It is funny you say that, as I traded a Mini Cooper for this truck, believe it or not. I'm really thinking I would have had some serious injuries if I were driving that.

Wow!

Socrates,

I am glad you are OK and that the truck held up so well to the crash. The improved safety of the new model was one of the reasons I traded in my 03 for the 04. It pains me (especially) to see such a nice looking truck wrecked like that.

I ripped my 1966 Mustang in half (one car accident, where I hit some trees @ about 50 mph) on my brother's 16th Bday. I had spent two years rebuilding the car and just 2 short months driving it. I still remember that crash on every one of my bro's Bdays!

Hopefully the insurance will come through and compensate you for the truck & accessories and they do it in time for you to get another 04! I was waiting to buy the new model until 05, until I heard that Ford would not have Blazing Yellow for next year's model. Next thing you know, I had one sitting in the driveway.

We have the Blazing Yellow trucks on the lots in Texas - there have to be some left in FL. Good luck with the insurance and the search!

He shouldn't need gap insurance. Gap insurance is meant for times when the accident is your fault and the vehicle is totalled and you owe more than it's worth. In this case, it was the other person's fault. If I was not satisfied by the outcome, I would have phantom back pain and soft tissue injuries for a long time.

I was actually turning left when I was struck, so I would estimate my speed at 7-10 mph. I can't believe a Dodge Neon had the force to push me that far, but it did. He was traveling at 50-55 at the time of impact, so I guess it would be possible considering my speed.

JDaddy,

I know, it really stinks that I can't get this color in a 2005. I'm hoping that I can still find a similarly equipped 2004 in Blazing Yellow. If not, it will be a long, hard decision.

Thanks for all of the kind regards!

The dealer where I bought mine a month ago had another identical truck on the lot...it made it difficult for me to decide which one to buy. You always wonder...did I choose the right one. Anyway, it has just about every option and MSRP is $37,780...just like mine.

Crap...I just realized that yours is a SCREW...nevermind. Forget what I said. Mines a SCAB!

Not exactly. The other insurance company is going to pay fair market value. If he owes $45,000 on a $35,000 truck, insurance will pay $35,000. Gap insurance would kick in to pay the additional $10,000.

Fortunately, I only owed $10,000, so GAP wouldn't have worked in this case anyway.

And in better news, I located another Blazing Yellow with the same options (except the 18'' wheels). Should know today if it is a "go."

Cheers,
-Justyn

State Farm....

I recently had an accident and State Farm paid for all my aftermarket items.

Catback exhaust-
Superchips tuner- (tuner was locked and useless)
Husky Liners-
K&N Intake-
Kings Decal-

My truck as an 02 Crew, 4x4, XLT w/31000 miles. I received over $31,000.00 for it. Not too bad.... I was surprised. With the extra funds I took the plunge on a new 2004 Crew, 4x4, Lariat. So far I love the 2004. My airbags also did not deploy, but I guess that is normal.
