I'll have to recomend Peg Leg Pete's to my brother, he's in Pensacola for flight school right now and his buddy's new car got keyed up bad in the parking lot at some place called Florabama.

FtWorth150,

I was actually turning left when I was struck, so I would estimate my speed at 7-10 mph. I can't believe a Dodge Neon had the force to push me that far, but it did. He was traveling at 50-55 at the time of impact, so I guess it would be possible considering my speed.

JDaddy,

I know, it really stinks that I can't get this color in a 2005. I'm hoping that I can still find a similarly equipped 2004 in Blazing Yellow. If not, it will be a long, hard decision.

Thanks for all of the kind regards!

-Justyn

HOLD ON THERE FATTY MCFAT!...It's not just "some place called Florabama". It's quite possibly the best bar on the planet, excluding the tiki bars on the beaches and the bars where girls walk around showing off their bewbies (and it beats some of those).

It's really not as good as I said, but it is awesome. It's quite a landmark too. It's a rathole of a building right on the beach, and rather than knock it down and start over, they just keep adding onto it. It looks terrible, but the beers are cold and the food is good. They've got the best jukebox on the planet...hands down.

Don't even ask me about their mullet tossing contest.

Is your brother training with the Blue Angels? They're based out of Pensacola. Pretty cool to watch them practice.

TUFF,
he's just out of the Naval Academy down there for basic flight school. From what he says its a great life, living near the beach, doing a little flying with a civilian instructor, drinking their faces off and cruising for chicks. He says the older women dig the accent (of course the irony is that Yankees from upstate NY like us have no accent). I think I have hijacked this thread so back to topic...

I can't believe that a Neon did that, if you had t-bones him at 55mph they would be cleaning that Neon up with a dustpan and broom. Considering how fast he was going a bruised knee isn't too bad...of course you neck could always take a turn for the worse and you could get an ambulance chaser...maybe the next truck will be a loaded lariat...

I'd get a good, aggressive lawyer and sue the sh*t outta him. If the lawyer takes 1/3, so be it, I'd be willing to bet that he'll get you a lot more than what you'll get for yourself. Especially since you have no gap insurance and have several hundred dollars in accessories. Insurance companies are notorious for trying to low ball the victims. You shouldn't have to pay one red cent out of your pocket for any of this. You may not be injured right now but, what if this causes something to surface in the future after you have already settled? Keep us posted! JMHO....

Dude that totally sucks! The good thing is that you are not hurt. You can always replace a truck, but not your life.

Good luck with the insurance co. Hopefully they will total that rig of yours so you can go ahead and get yourself another.

Happy B-Day man.

Im sorry to hear about your loss...... That was a BEAUTIFUL truck. You do need to go after this punk, Goto the doctor have them examin your knee tell them it hurts EXTREMELY bad if its purple thats even better. My girlfriend got hit the same way and she got an additional $5,000 from the punks insurance company they didnt even try to fight it. Because she had a Sore back and was in bed for a week. She also didnt get to goto a College class she already payed for and had signed up for. So you will be able to get Emotional/physical damage. Tell them youre scared of stop lights. Do anything, You DESERVE the extra cash that way you can get another truck and get those parts back on it. Dont let this punk get away with it, By doing this his insurance will also raise extremely high because his insurance company will have to pay for your damages of emotional distress or physical harm. Trust me, it will work just do it he has it coming to him....

after mommy and daddy are through with him, he wont want to have a radio in his car

due to the hundreds and hundreds of extra a month theyll have to pay for his F'up

Some of you are scaring me. Now you all no why car insurance is so damn high. People sue just becasue they can. It's wrong. You do have the right to be covered for your losses but faking it to get more is wrong. It's no different than shoplifting. We all make mistakes in life and it sure is nice when people understand that.

I agree completely! Money hungry lawyers and the people who hire them to get money fraudulently are the lowest type of people in my opinion.

But he certainly does deserve to have his truck replaced just as it was before, and to have his knee injury cared for.

I agree! Happy Birthday to me.

I have no immediate plans for an attorney at this point. Assuming they total the vehicle and replace it completely (including my extras, I hope), I'm happy. Otherwise, I'm not sure what the next course of action will be. Obviously, I'm up against the almighty insurance company (State Farm), and they have a very large legal team, that I'm sure.

Still awaiting a decision...

Best Regards,
-J
