I'd have to agree with what he said about ground clearance on these trucks. I don't know why Ford is designing trucks this way, but it seems they all are. They say only 5% of 4x4's ever get used off road, so I guess they are designing for that 95% that don't. Wish I could still get a 1/2 ton truck that had decent ground clearance.

I got an idea. Lets not feed this post anymore than we have to. I say if you don't agree with what this guys says let's not respond to him. I bet if he doesn't get anyone arguing he will let it go and we can all be happy.

I am uncomfortable getting in and out,

Seats are very uncomfortable, and with the center section being positioned very far forward, an adult does not have the length to sit properly in the middle nor the width to fit , even for a short distance

If the extra large door armrests were half the size it would make a big difference.

Dropped window ledge may look nice from outside, but you can't put your arm on the window ledge because the back section is so high

Can any Ford engineer explain what good the rear doors are ? When opened , you still have zero access behind the seats because the door hinges are so far forward. You still must fold the seat back forward AND slide the seat forward to gain access. And when the seat is folded back, it does not return to the original position, rather you must readjust it to even get back in the truck

There is also the safety issue of putting the door pillar right beside your head to limit visibility, and the awkwardness of having to move forward and twist to step out of the cab rather than just sliding out

And what good is the storage space behind the seat without a tray or an organiser system

All of the above complaints could have/should have been noticed on a test drive. Did this guy even look at what he was buying? I don't see how you can complain about a truck being the way you bought it. It's like buying a black truck and then complaining it's a pain to keep clean. IT MAKES NO SENSE!

LOL... man, if you only knew how many breaks we give around here! I was in a foul mood when I typed that out this morning but, after reading it, and re-reading it, I stand by what I said. The maturity levels, at least, have to get up around 16 before I'll step down off of my soap box and, naturally, that doesn't apply to everyone; but rather the select few which refuse to carry-on, carry-forward, and carry-grant.

Is it time to go home yet?

I read allot of posts on here and I re-read yours RP and your right...The post that started all this was done in a very good, cool matter...He has his opinions and his reasons...as do others that answered back...But he did not act like a child so I can't see why some want to treat him as one...

Now to get a 8' box on a scab here its a special order and takes a while...But Dodge has the extra cab and 8' box on many lots in the area...Matter of taste ?? who knows...Me I like the Ford I have but would like the super cab 4 door one in a Lariat if I could go back to last March...I was just scared the box would be too small...I like the higher box because it makes you go to the tailgate area to get or put something in it...Saving the side of the box from damage...

I like different opinions and ideas than mine own...Helps me learn and grow...I like reading the reasons you can give for these opinions...I feel its your right to post them as long as you give the same right and respect to others , to have their opinions and reasons for them...In a grown up matter...

Whatever your reasons for your mood RockPick you still did the right thing here and I agree with you...I agree with fatman66 as well....

Best of luck on how you end up dealing with this issue Dwayne...

A Reason for the Bed Height? Two German Shepards tend to stay down in the Back more, which is safer for them.

BTW I have two kids and a wife and including myself that equals 4 so I bought a 4 door Truck we Love it!

I'm sorry if my comments earlier in the thread came off as being rude. I will make it a point to not post after a long day at 3:00 in the morning!

i know what he means about this bed. its a pain in the butt to reach over [not to mention the scratches you get]. but thats one of the reasons i bought it. all my stuff that wont fit in my toolbox can still be covered by my truxedo. that 2.5 ins. is worth a mile to me. of course it'll cost me 700 to 800 bucks for stepbars to alleviate the height problem it is well worth it. to me. p.s. supercab longbed, 8 footer, i hear ya brother.

He is correct about the seats being very uncomfortable but WOW what a complainer.

You would think anyone being that particular would have checked out closer.

If Ford took heed of only half of his complaints or ideas, then someone else wouldn't like it.

Merriam-Webster defines a forum as "a medium (as a newspaper) of open discussion or expression of ideas".

No truck is perfect....including the new F150. Too often it seems that some members of this forum do not want to accept the bad with the good. If we can't be open and honest in our thoughts and opinions with out being crapped on....what's the point?

this isn't the case.

What set me off (and I'd imagine what set off the other members) is a review slamming the vehicle on silly, nit-picking issues (ie bed too high, can't rest arm on window etc)

These were not fiar comments.

The engine isn't as quick as the Ram is a fair comment. There isn't as many rebates as the Chevy is fair comment.
Objective comments are very fair. Subjective comments can be fair if the argument is at least thought out and has some degree of merit.

Thanks bud. I know emotions sometimes get out of control and get the best of a person; especially when the topic is something that seems outlandish and troublesome. All is well...
