All right, I will go drill now and see how well I lined up once they get here. What size bit you thinking, half inch? How many holes, think 10 per lip will be enough?
lol, I dont want the damn trim that bad. Worst case scenario, I sell it on ebay for more than what I paid for sure.

After much thought, I am sending my truck to a friend of mine's Body Shop, and let him do this job, I will leave and have a beer while its being done, if I stay I will have a heart attack.......

I also got some molded mud guards so they will go on at the same time.

Price from my Local Dealer on this Item, Fender Flares, my brother in laws cost( He works at the Local Dealership) was $360.00+tax so the 110.00 OTD price was awesome..

Obviously when I GET ER DONE I will update my gallery...

By the way. Is $110 your final price, including shipping from Ebay? I paid $109 when I went to the body shop. You might have been able to get it for the same price at the Ford Parts counter at your dealer.
When you got them from the dealer for $109, were they painted or did they need to be painted. $109 doesn't sound to bad for a painted fender flare.

Like I said before these flares, Black Plastic, are wicked expensive they were more than 350.00 cost at the dealership, so E-bay worked for me, $110.00 out the door with shipping was agreat price, unfortintly now it is going to be a job geting them on, if I was to do over I would have bought after market flares that clip on even if they cost more! saw some on Truckaddons.com for about 360.00 + shipping and paint was extra, but I want mine black... hopefully install soon will post pics when complete, I think I am going to have my rockers and bumpers painted too: Charcoal FX4 grey....

I mentioned it before, but I got mine off ebay for 50 bucks shipped. You need to email some of these ebay sellers and make offline bids with them to buy it off them directly. I put a bid in on a set and had them shipped while he sold another set that same day for $110. A great guy to do business with is NTFtakeoffs on ebay. Lots of good stuff, good guy and good service.
Mine should arrive today and then I need to figure out how to attach them...there will be no drilling. Worst case I go and sell them on ebay for $110.

They were dark shadow gray, which is the color I needed.

Well mine came in the mail today. It looks like you need to drill holes in the side as well as the bottom of the fender. I am going to attach mine by drilling holes in the bottom of the fender to attach with molding clips and the sides I am going to mount with 3M molding tape and no drilling. Since Advanced Auto was out of both those items, it will be a couple days before I get around to it.

Very true. I am going with the 3M Ahesive Plus tape that is their newest product for body molding tapes. I dont think I will have a problem with it what so ever because in a worst case scenario the tape would just start to separate and I would know its time to drill em on. I just cant put a drill to the side of my truck, no way.
Besides you will have to drill something like 15 holes for each fender and they all have to be aligned perfect. Besides many products are attached with tape alone and if its good tape they tend to stay on forever (emblems, vent visors, fake hood scoops, body molding, etc)
Anyways I should get the tape in the mail next week and I will repost with all the info, then once the lift is in I will be creating a library of pictures on everything and the installs.

I ordered 3Ms new automotive adhesive called, 3M Acrylic Plus Tape,
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/_.../_s.155/126308

It was pretty expensive but 3M typically makes a good product. It should be here sometime today or tomorrow and I plan on doing the job right away. They do reccomend you use the adhesive primer (alcohol and some solvent) but I called 3M and they said to just go with some rubbing alcohol or soap to remove the wax on the paint, the solvent in their primer will perm. damage the clear coat. He said the tape should hold the flares without a problem since this tape is made for body molding on auto and marine applications.
I will keep you all posted.

Those who were interested, I installed the fender flares today using just the 3M tape. I prepped the surface as stated above and attached the flares putting tape on only the bottom lip of the fender. I accidentally put a attached one wrong and it took longer to get that off than it did to put all the others on. Lets just say they arent going anywhere once put on. It was tricky to line them up without positioning them wrong but they are on and look great. I am however going to drill into the bottom of the fender lip (horizontal lip) and attach plastic fasteners just to be safe. I strongly reccomend the tape. It worked great, just take your time and if you want to be extra safe then attach a few fasteners as well.
I will post pics soon with the lift. It will be a library of pics from everything before and after and parts pics.

Yo D, they are the same as your fender flares
This is a set of FX4 flares.
Sorry about the pics, what I have been doing is taking photos of the truck, the lift parts and the before and after shots so I can put up a detailed gallery with all questions answered about ride height, parts, labor, the works.
Oh and I have been busy because I painted all the lift components red. Looks pretty sweet. The appt for the lift is in September so keep your pants on.
