Has anyone experienced anything like this? My cooling fan lopes (sounds like a rolling idle) from the time the truck is started in the morning until it becomes warm. Is this normal? Can someone provide the full text to this bulletin?

"Engineering is aware of the concern and is currently working on a solution. Do not attempt any repairs at this time."
Ford don't know what it is just yet, in the bulletin itself they don't advise replacing the fan clutch or any of the FEAD components. They say to sit tight and monitor broadcast messages for a fix sooner or later.

I have had a few problems with my truck so I tend to check the Service Bulletins every once in a while to see whats out there. Here is what I have had done
* Clutch pak
* Ring and Pinion gears, which so far has solved the whine
* Front crossmember and swaybar were loose from factory
which threw the alignment out pretty bad and made for
some terrible crunching sounds when driving over bumps etc..
* Dealer screwed up alignment and had to redo it. really
munched up my tires.
* A few rattles on the inside
* Steering wheel nibble was solved by tightening up the front
suspension and road force balancing the tire.
The truck has been in the shop for a total of 15 days since I bought it.
Otherwise I love it. Best looking/running truck I have ever owned.
Mine was built 10/03. I kinda wish I would have waited for the '05 model.

'04 F150 FX4 Crew 5.4 07/04 build date - KC. I think my truck defines SSM 17759. The first 10-15 mints after starting, it's like someone is sitting back smiling with a switch turning the fan off, then on, then off, then on. Each time it comes on, it revs from low to high, then seems to shut off, then cycles like this over and over again. You don't want to be showing the truck off just after starting it that is for sure, especially to a non-Ford (which I used to be) owner. After the initial 10-15 minutes or so, it becomes much less noticeable, but still cycles. I'm not sure why it is taking Ford so long to resolve this problem - anyone know? I just checked today while at the dealer, no new information from Ford.
I've had some other issues, wind noise (fixed by placing a silicon bead between the windshield and the cosmetic 1/8" strip of molding along the top of the windshield), door rattle (inside cable was loose), sluggish throttle response (fixed noticeably by the latest PCM update). Other than that, very nice truck. Of course, I haven't had any of the steering or power train vibrations (yet -knock on wood

I'm not sure why it is taking Ford so long to resolve this problem - anyone know?
Step 2: Develop a fix
Step 3: Test the fix so it can be signed off
Step 4: Develop the documentation for the fix
Step 5: Roll out the fix.
Remember, fixing a low temp fan problems can possibly cause bad things to occur at high temp. All the appropriate testing needs to be done.
