The speed of the vehicle is registered in two different places. One is the analog speedometer (i.e. "the needle") and the other is the digital version of speed that the computer reads. In order to see the digital speed, you have to put your dashboard gauges into diagnostic mode. That's usually done by having everything turned off. Then you hold down the trip odometer button while turning the key to the "ON" position (one click past the accessory position, where a whole bunch lights on the dash light up), but do not start the engine. Continue holding the trip odometer button until the odometer displays "test mode" or something else like that. Release the button. Then press/release it to cycle through all the diagnostic information that it provides. One of them is the digital speed. There is a thread here on this board somewhere about it, but I can't seem to find it now.

I have found that my "digital speed" reads 3 MPH slower than the analog needle speed. So, your 102 MPH reading on the needle seems right to me as the digital speed, what the computer sees, would be 99.

I have been up to 140mph twice now. I think I got screwed and my governor is set at like 145 - 148mph or something, however it could be the wind flow acting as a governor too…

Oh, no reflash or mods, yet...
