Who is running true dual exaust?

Right now I am running Flowmaster 40 series, single in dual out from the cat back.

Is anyone running true duals? I am interested in hearing your review of it, and what you are using, price, etc......

I am considering doing this (Another flowmaster 40), but I dont want a headache as I drive. Any ideas / thoughts???? Thanks!

I ran true duals on my 5.4(99). I had two flowmaster 40 series two chamber si/so, the mufflers were side by side( rotated 90 degrees) and hte pipes were run to the rear axle and turned down as I am not crazy about most exhaust tips. Real low rumble at idle w/ a nice sound at wot w/o being loud enought to give you a headache. Sounded very similiar to the old thrush setups that were popular back in the day. One thing to remember is to do a cold air or k and n at the same time. That made a dramatic sound difference. Seems like I lost torque an hp as well as the deepness when I did not have it but w/ it a huge improvement in acceleration and sound which I assume is because more air flow is needed to create the same back pressure etc. When I did this it was by one of our local race shops and we spent soe time on the phone w/ flowmasters install techs as hte best way to do this( I had a 99 5.4pi) as no one knew of a similiar setup on our trucks at the time. I did not need a crossover pipe but you may in your setup

I can only speak on the new 5.4 (3v). We have true dual exhaust on our race truck. When we asked the Ford Engineers about this engine needing backpressure and what they sugested for the exhaust.................they said big, and dual. So we have true-dual 3" exhaust with small flow thru mufflers, and it sounds awesome!!! Although it is probably too loud for a street truck.........

I know this has been brought up before but I was thinking about true duals or a borla system and after reading Troyer posts he reccomended a SIDO system because the true duals lose power. For those who did go true dual, what was the part number on the mufflers? Is it louder than the SIDO systems?

TRUE DUELS DO NOT LOOSE POWER...... maybe torque. The more free an engine can breath the more power it is capable of producing. You many loose low end but you will deffinatly gain high end where big power is really being produced. Getting true duels today two flowmaster 40 series side by side rotated 90 degrees with tips out the back. Only $375 at a awsome place in daytona beach Fl, and for all those buying cat back and spending 500 after shipping or maybe more you are nuts.
