Negative. Apple Ford was very unhelpful. I went there first last summer. Horrible experience. Never returned calls etc. Had to get Ford customer service involved just so the service manager would return calls. I then dealt with Miller Bros which wasn't too much better. My final dealer was Academy Ford in Laurel. Stand up bunch of guys every last one of them. I will only use them for any service needs in the future. Service Manager was very up front and honest through the entire process. Mind you, this process was not quick or easy, but at least it's over. Academy tried numerous things and I'd been dealing with them since end of December, but now it's over. Great staff, great bunch of people. Met the sales manager today and he seemed pretty nice too.

Now to decide about the color. I'm thinking the wedgewood/beige Lariat SCAB to replace the Bright Red/Beige SCAB Lariat I have. Maybe, I'll upgrade to a SCREW King Ranch. How often can I trade for a few $K? I'm a happy guy.

 

New driveshaft didn't work. Still vibe'in. Dealer has no clue. Oh well. Could be worse. Could be a Chevy.

Be patient. I watied over 8 months. I know that's hard to say, just be patient and persistent. I went through 2 driveshafts, 2 complete rear ends, body mounts, the dampner, 4 sets of tires, rear trans mount, steering rack, road force balance and a host of other things that didn't work.

Main idea is to keep the dealer on your side. Have them call the FSE and make sure the FSE documents he sees the vibe.

Hey guys, I was reading the posts on here & I really started to get worried about the vibe in my 04 f150. The vibe only happened every 2 or 3 days & for only a few minutes or so..... Odd! Early on I started thinking my E brake was hanging up on the right rear. Well, this past Tuesday I took the brakes off of the right rear & adjusted the E brake a little & this has seemed to fix my problem. No vibe since & I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's fixed. Just wanted to pass this along in case any of you may have the same issue.

 

I had 2 sets of BFGs and currently have a set of really ugly blackwall Michelins. Not that I care, it's not going to be mine for long!

I have an 04 XL Extended cab. I don't get Vibes at highspeeds at all but I get an odd vib after I back out of my driveway and put the truck in drive accelerating away not to slow(and not to fast). Feels like the left rear is bumping/shimmy-ing some. Happens as well when I turn left at slow speeds after stopping for a light. Never happens when going straight or taking right turns or while in reverse. I also get no vibes when breaking.

Its really weird. I am not even sure when it started... late in the winter maybe. I have just started paying close attention to it. Did some tight radius left-handed turns tonight and it didn't do it but it did as I took a normal 90 degree turn to leave the parking lot.

I apologize that I have not read thru all the posts; I am not sure if someone else has the same issue. All the ones I read seemed to be at high speeds. Wanted to ask before I too take her in for a look-see. Being a woman I need ALL the info I can get before I go.

You need new clutch packs in the rearend. Just got mine back and the shudder is completely gone. All I had to do was tell the dealer there was a shudder when turning to the left and occasionally going straight - they said it was the clutch packs right off the bat. Known problem with 04's.

They shouldn't charge you if you're under warranty.

 

I also had the steering wheel nibble around 65-75mph. I have Continentals. I noticed the tires seemed to be feathered on the outside edge like the tires were out of balance. I rotated the tires and changed from the recomended tire pressure of 35psi to 40psi. Max pressure for this tire is 44psi. The nibble seemed to go away. 3000 miles later and all is still ok. So for now the plan is to keep a close check on the tire pressure and rotate the tires as reccomended then when it comes time for a new set I'll go from there. Unles Ford comes up with something better.

 

Boy! I wish I had found this site and thread sooner. I would not be driving a loaner while they are trying to fix vibration in a new 05 screw that I just bought.
Had to take truck in to dealer. They ran a road test that they said was a new "EV" test which indicated a drivetrain problem. They first tried to rebalance and rotate tires which did not good. They now have to order a new yoke assembly to put in and see it that stops the vibration.
This truck has less than a thousand miles on it.
I hope I don't have to use the lemon law on the truck but I want a truck that runs and rides right.

 

Update on vibration. Dealer ran test with wrong gear ratio, had to rerun test. The results indicated tire problem. They roadforced balanced them, but it still had vibration at 58-60 mph with bed shimmy. They are keeping it one more day to put on a new set of tires to see it that stops it. Will be awaiting a call from dealer if it works. I sure miss my truck!

 

I hope tires work better for you than they have for me. Dealer replaced 3 of mine today (we're up to 13 tires on this truck now, including the original 4) to eliminate first-order driveline vibration. This will make at least 3 times that all tires have balanced within spec, only to have the vibration- and unbalanced tires- come back.
