and now back to the vibration...........
Just picked my FX4 up from the dealer. They tried the latest TSB for the steering nibble. This did not help at all. They ordered an "updated steering rack". I was unaware there was an updated steering rack. Is the steering gear the same as the steering rack? I know that after 8/03 they used a different steering gear. My build date is 1/04 so I have the updated steering gear. Can someone clear this up for me? The tech had already left when I picked it up, but the service guy said the tech told him I had the old steering rack. I am going back Monday to have this new steering rack installed. If this does not fix it I am going the DSB route, and I doubt I will go back to the F-150. I don't even know if I can go back to Ford.

Well I have 60 miles on it and the good news is that the steering wheel nibble seems to be gone. It is cold here in Dallas and it usually is worse in warm weather. I still have vibration in the pedals though, kinda like a foot massage and I can fell it in the door panels, console and seat as well.
For right now I need to put more miles on it, but having the nibble disappear so far is a huge gain.

Mine has been at the dealer since last Friday. They replaced body mounts and rear trans mount. The service guy said it's better, but still there. They are awaiting Ford to tell them what to do next. I'm calling on Monday morning to see what's up. I think I'll be headed to DSB soon if they can't get this done by the end of the month.
Well, I wrote down the bar code number and went to the dealer this morning to check my bar code against the new one that came in. The rack currently on the truck has a different bar code that the one that came in. Also the dot is a teal green color on the rack I have on the truck, whereas the new rack is a true green color. The guy in parts said these had been on backorder for a while and he was suprised they received one so quick.
Bar Code on rack that is on my truck is 02404033211
4X4 SOMM/REV DV
Does the different bar code mean this is for sure a different rack?
The new rack bar code starts with a 3, I did not write it down, but I will Monday. The new rack also had 4x4 SOMM/REV DP. Hopefully this will fix my intermittant nibble.

At what speeds were you getting your vibration?
It took 3 different ones to finally fix it???
Good for you
I just read you post previous post with your vibe desciption. That is exactly what I have starts around 55 and peaks at 58-60.
The vibration is not terrible but you can tell something is not right.
Probably a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Would you say this was the same with yours?

Drove 75 miles yesterday. Nibble re-appeared twice randomely. Vibration is constant from 55 mph and up. (I have not gone over 75MPH)
Can someone exlpain the vibration and how bad it is?
I am not sure if they are going to consider mine bad enough. It is just a constant vibration in the pedals door panels and console.
I would rate it as more annoying than anything else.
Like Tjaas I would rate mine about a 5 out of 10.
I do know that the 2005 F150 stripper that they gave me while mine was in the shop did not have it. It only had 7 miles on it but I put 180 on it while mine was being "fixed".
Any help would be appreciated.

tjaas,
That is exactly right except I would rate the vibe on mine at a 5 or better. The three driveshafts they ordered all had different model numbers. I had no idea that there would be so many driveshafts available for a new truck. My dealer has done a great job. Couldn't be happier.
Good Luck
