...but my seats are dry!

I would like to share my stupidity. I stopped for gas on the way home from work yesterday. There was a storm rolling in (I live in N.E. PA and it's been kinda brutal here this week) and I had my windows down but figured I could fill'er up before the storm hit. Half way thru the fill up, the heavens opened up along with a nice cross wind. The rain was just blowing into my drivers window and I did not want my seats to get soaked. I decided to jump over the gas hose to make it to my window quicker. Well, I didn't make. Tripped over the hose, landed ****eyed on my foot and broke my ankle. I pulled myself up to the door, opened it, crawled in and closed my window. My first thought was, OH ****! I broke my ankle but seats are dry!

Then, to add insult to injury, the attendant (non-American) comes running out telling me, " You ok, it not broke". That little f*&%er, telling me I'm ok when I can see the bulge on my ankle along with the pop I heard when I initially fell. He wasn't going to let me leave and go to the hospital because he said I was ok. Then he made me pay for the gas before I left.

Next time I will let them get wet!!!

Those of you who think your truck might be lacking in the height department (like I did), try crawling into it while lying on your stomach. It's a whole different perspective.

You poor bastard! Man I hate it for you! I thought it was bad when I left my sunroof open all night during a storm. I was catching some Z's though.

I guess my situation wasn't so bad afterall!

Hope the healing process is quick! Have a beer with those meds, it makes the whole world seem A-Okay!

Sorry to hear that. I would have done the same thing myself, it’s a natural reaction, nobody wants to get a new truck, or any vehicle for that matter, wet on the inside. Hope it turns out not to be too serious of a break and you have a speedy recovery.

The most important thing is that the truck is ok.

I've done alot of stupid things in the name of my truck, but I have yet to break a bone.

Worse things could have happened I guess.... You could have knocked out the gas nozzle and sent gas all over the place and sent the whole place up in smoke.

Get well.

SHAVERTOWN!!!

I grew up in Lehman. We lived on Hayfield Farms. That is where the Golf Course for Penn State Campus is at currently. My dad use to always take us over to McCrory's there and shop.

Beautiful country. I come out there every year to visit my Dad. (He now lives in Pittston.)

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope that all is well. Take Care.

Question

04fx4Scab, how bad is that ankle? Was it the right or left? At least if it is left one you’ll still able to drive. Let us know, OK

Thanks for the support everyone. I got my cast yesterday morning, from toes to knee. Doctor said it was a clean break, they didn't even need to set it. 4-6 weeks and good as new. This friggin thing must weigh 15lbs.

When I left the hospital Friday night, the wife wanted to drive me home, I didn't want to leave my truck at the hospital so I told her I would be be more comfortable in the truck since it had more room. I actually would have been better off in the back seat of her liberty but what ya gonna do. This was the first time she had driven it. It was funny but she done good for a newbie.

-YellowFX4SCrew- Ya it is great out here. Country living with the conveniences of the city. My wife and her family has lived out here her whole life, in the same area that you grew up, you probably both went to Lehman high school. We actually just bought a house behind Slocum Lake. I guess it's time to get that fishing license and relax a bit.

The right ankle but I don't have the flow thru console so I think I might be able to sit kinda sideways and put the cast up on the hump and drive with the left. That should be fun!!
