What happened to the GM? I hope he is not still working for the dealer so he can screw someone else. I think Bill Ford would be interested in this issue since it's his name that's out in front of the public.

I would also guess that as part of your settlement you are not allowed to give the name of the dealer or talk about this issue on the Internet anymore. Too bad. The dealer will most likely sell that truck to some poor sucker and they won't be any worse off then before this whole thing started.

Glad it worked out for you in the end, but it seems like the GM/dealer got away with murder.

Thunderthud,
That is for your strong conviction not to take any BS from the dealership. I hope this ordeal doesn't spoil your appetite for a new F-150 for very long. You might be in the cat bird seat to get yourself a good deal on an 05 F-150 if you see another reputable dealer in the area. I am sure that word of this story has spread in the vacinity of your town. Congratulations again on the full refund and enjoy your 01 a bit longer.

@momalle: My PSD came from Autofair, they have been great to deal with on both sales and service. I have just been working silly hours for the past 6 months and wanted to just get the thing ordered and not have to worry about driving to ManchVegas every time I might need service or warranty work. I was tired of trying to keep track of a fleet of trucks all routed through different dealers who do the warranty work for the fleet. I was wrong yet again. I bought my ball and chains Freelander from Land Rover of Bedford and they have been great since day one, even driving up there for service hasn't been bad, especially with the free loaner!

@dzervit: Thanks for the offer of violence and destruction of the dealer. Any whoopass would have been dealt by lawyers. I assume that lawyers though not voilent can cause bloodpressure to rise at the dealership. My attorney on one of the calls suggested that there might be protracted discovery as he requested every shred of detail about how the truck is ordered, how it is billed, how it is insured, etc. Plus the entire accusations on page one with color photos!

This entire orderal was stupid from the get-go. They had a lesser Lariat on the lot they could have given the kid, there is an Excursion on the lot that I swear has been there since I ordered my truck. But I guess the allure of the monotone Black was too great for 'Junior' every Lariat on the dealers lot is two-tone. I guess me and the 01 will continue down the road until I decide what to buy. At least it's not a Titan that needs a new bed because the spray liner sucks!

I think guys that live near that area should go down and look at the truck on the lot....Spend a couple of their hours very interested, then say...Oh wait...Isn't this the Graduation party truck???? And say no thanks and walk out....Could be our way of letting them know, what they did was wrong!

I'd still be tempted to go all out with the Media on this. What the hell, turnabout is fair play.

You should definately place a call to Ford and let them know about this GM's practices. I doubt they would condone this type of behavior. I can only imagine what else this GM has pulled of on unsuspecting or unknowing customers.

Is this thread a hoax? If not I'd like to see thunderthud name some names. A good start would be the name of the dealership...how about the name of the salesperson and general manager?

No offense intended but I too wondered the same thing. In the beginning of his thread he says he's waited 20 weeks for a 2004 Lariat. In his profile it says he drives a 2004 FX4. In one of his last posts he says he's going to stick it out with his 2001. Not sure what's going on here.

my advice

First off let me say hello My name is Bob. I joined this site after being linked to this by another truck site. I had a similar situation with a chevy dealer. I lived in Brooklyn NY at the time and bought a Chevrolet Venture minivan brand new in 2002 at a NJ dealership. in NJ you get temporary tags and i paid cash for the vehicle. a couple of days before the temp tag was to expire i get a call from the dealer that i had to return the van as they sold me a vehicle they couldnt register in NY state as it didnt have the certification for the emmissions and they would give me a brand new van just like the one i had bought for free that could be registered. i already had like 1200 miles on the van by this time and i agreed. Turns out that when i get there the "new van" had like 350 miles on it. turns out they got it from another dealer. my dads friend told me to take the van that it was still new cause it wasnt titled yet and i did BIG MISTAKE that van had issues from day one and in hindsight i am sorry i ever took it stick to your guns and sue the hell out of them and most of all keep us informed ....

Regarding this whole thread ........

I was one of the first to respond to this thread and in that response I pointed out that it seemed like the script to a TV show !

I must have been typing that response at exactly the same time as someone else was thinking the same thing but for a movie !!

I must admit my first reaction was that the whole story was a bit far fetched....HOWEVER having been taken to task in the past for my blunt views and forthright manner thought I would just add a word of sympathy like many others have done.
(FoMoCoFoMe and TruBluScru...are you still there .... or like many others now you have your trucks you got bored and left, not being prepared to contribute just for the sake of continuing the forum ?) (You see there I go !)

Now though, a couple of others have raised doubts and it would be interesting to see some validation for the story....

Comments like ....

10:45am My new truck with dealer tags whips into the parking lot at no less than 50mph and screeches up to service. A dishevellved kid gets out of my truck, SMOKING NO LESS, and hands my keys to service
are really dubious.....Try to imagine a truck in a parking lot at 50 mph !!

I don't think so !

Anyway Thunderthud if you can substantiate the original comments I would be happy to retract my doubts !!

Interesting thread, if true and I hope for your sake it is or else I would be afraid of ever meeting any of these guys who were trying to help you, then I would definitely send this along to Ford Mo Co attn Bob Ford. This is something you should pass along explaining in detail like you did here and how you are not going to buy a new Ford because of it. Oh and definitely give up the name of the dealership. If this isnt real, you pulled a lot of attention and concern for you to this thread.

What is the name of the dealership and the GM? I can't believe that you did not post it with your original post. You should be warning other F-150 owners or future owners that may live in your area NOT to do business with these jerks!

So what are the names???
