Beautiful Two-wheeler!!!!

Beautiful Truck! Nice Exhaust. I would have loved to have had that, however I would have wanted the to exit on both sides of the truck in front of the rear tire like yours. I couldn't find that so I went with duals out the rear.

Pretty machines.
Thanks! Sorry, I missed your post earlier....

Nice truck, yourself!

Here's what I'm saying. There really isn't much to that system and IMO that is an awful lot to pay for just a head pipe, muffler and dual tips. That muffler can be purchased online for around $130 and tips around $50. Installation certainly should cost $350.

Troyer sells the kit for $456 delivered.

For those that don't want to spend that much for their exhaust system, there is a cheaper alternative for them.

I'm not quite sure I follow you....

What's the deal with the installation costing $350.00....???
I paid $476.05 Delivered and I installed it myself.

You still need the pipes and hangers with proper mounting hardware, where are you getting those pieces? Are you doing some welding of hangers to save a few bucks.

This is not a Merrill Lynch investment portfolio where dealing with here, it's a hobby, it's fun, and your saying I paid too much because I paid $20.05 more than the same system from Troyer...?

If I'm reading you incorrectly, I apoligize.

You just have put your whole system together with a final price.
You have:
$130 for the Muffler (Magnaflow I assume)
$50.00 for Tips
$350.00 for Installation

Things you still need:
Custom Exhaust pipes with proper Hangers and hardware.

Fatboy,

Apparently I wasn't clear. All I'm saying is that a similar system, using Magnaflow parts could be installed for less money for those who may be on a tighter budget.

The $350 I refereed to was a hypothetical installation allowance only. I'm sure there are some shops that would charge you this much, but this only refereed to what was left using sales price as the total budget allowed (pipes and hangers included, not separate).

A similar system could be installed for much less buying the parts yourself and having them installed at a local muffler shop. The muffler can be had for about $112, tips for $50, local install $100-$200 (including pipes and hangers); Grand total approximately $250 ($350 max).

That's all I'm saying.

I'm running true duals on my truck. I have a stainless Magnaflow x-core muffler, Megs oval tips. Price including install was $270.

Thanks for the compliment.

I wasn't knocking what you spent, I do plenty of stuff like that myself all the time. We all have different priorities and we allow for them in our budget by how we rank them in importance to us. It's just some people don't allow $550 for an exhaust in their budget, and yes, I have spent that before and probably will again in the future.

I had a 99 F150 that had the factory exhaust in front of the wheel. Ford recalled it because the heat discolored the wheel. Replaced the wheel and re-routed the exhaust "behind" the wheel.

I thought they had a 'special coating' on the tire to prevent discoloration? Maybe after you get aftermarket tires the problem cropped up?

Exhaust exit in front of the wheels was only on '97 models and not all of them developed the problem.

They do exit in front on the L, but I have never heard of a problem with them.
