I was wondering if anyone was going to offer this. The black plastic side mirrors are nice, but I'm a sucker for chrome!

The whole "cover" idea has always turned me away from chrome and billet pieces like this. I don't want to double-stick tape a cheap chromed plastic cover on top of my mirror or door handle, I want a quality replacement.

How long, honestly, do you think chromed plastic is going to last? Especially on the door handles and tailgate, your nuts.

just my .02

I have to agree with jm on this one... I don't think that the durability will be there...

I may be wrong but I've seen too many instances of chromed plastic wearing down on some of the older (90's) Toyotas and other vehicles. This may be of higher quality and such but, I'd be careful...

Has anyone explored the idea of painting all of those parts?

RP, I'm with you. I want color-matched mirrors (and powerfold to boot). I hope the Mark LT comes with the same mirros and are power fold so I can swap (and paint).

Yeah, painting the mirrors and door handles is my first order of business once I get the other bolt-ons done (exhaust, intake, stereo, CAN flasher). The chrome looks good as an accent, too much of it and it begins to compete with the main color of the truck, and then you just end up with a truck that looks like a truck with a million cheap add-ons, not a sweet smooth rice-killing machine.

Not to move this thread in a different direction but, it seems like I remember someone saying that the LT and the KR would have powerfold?

Don't tease me like that... I hope the KR has powerfold, that means I can swap out late this summer, maybe sooner! I'm putting in an e-mail to a friend - hopefully have an answer soon...

I think they look rugged and don't have any real issues with them. However, I'd like a more sleek sexy look (painted, not chrome). I think I'll leave the door handles black, though... you need SOMETHING to breakup all that solid color on the doors!!

I think Ford made the right choice, since it is targeted as a work truck after all...

To each his own

I think the pieces will dress up say a Lariat trim model pretty nicely a la Mark LT which apparently will come with a lot of chrome accent pieces (mirrors are chrome and painted). And they're stick on so if want another look down the line you can remove them and you're not out a lot money.

I suspect that many of those who have the 'Shadow' trucks luv the contrasting black trim, mirrors, handles, etc. I do, but the DSG is the only color that seems to be an aesthetic match for the black items IMO.

Can you say Titan???

To each his own is right! While some people are drooling over the chrome, I just puked on my keyboard!

I for one am a huge fan of the black handles/mirrors. Looks nice!
