New Truck in 3hours!!
I'm picking up my new SCrew Lariat in 3 hours!! Tomorrow I have a 300 mile road trip, returning the next day.... any break-in concerns/issues should be aware of? Is it OK to put those first miles on at highway speed? I want to do this right..... thanks in advance!
nope, nothing to worry about, i got my pickup from Racine, WI, and the dealer i bought it from In Omaha Nebraska, drove it from there to almost Colorado/Nebraska state line, all in about one day, all interstate, im am very pleased with this truck, 10,500 miles later, no complaints at all, of course, i got a STX 4x4, not as much that can go wrong with em, no power windows or anything. But i am VERY satisfied with it, even the gas mileage is more than what i expected. Just three words for ya. Sweet Looking Truck. well hope i helped out a lil bit. i guess i kinda ranted and went on.

GOT IT!!! One word.. WOW!! I ended up with the one I wanted that had everything except the ltd. slip. So... you guys who thought I should hold out for the LS, don't be too hard on me. I love the truck!! Here are the details:
Lariat Supercrew
Aspen green with the bright tubular running boards
Tan interior with the leather captains chairs
Moonroof and power slider in the back
Audiophile 6 disc CD
LT tires
Towing package
Heated seats package
Mirror package
Skid plates (not on my want list but it has them)
Reverse sensing system
I even ended up with a free bedliner due to some mix-up in the dealer trade... I was going to have a liner sprayed on but I'll go with this one for now. I'll get my more technologically advanced kids to help my post some pictures in a couple of days.

Our road trip in the new truck was a success... combination of interstate speeds, secondary highways, up and over some moderate mountain passes... I think it was a good break-in. I left the cruise control off and varied the speed as suggested. Everything worked great! A very comfortable ride!
POWERDOME
I was born in and went to schoold in Racine, WI. Left there in 1963 to join the Air Force.
How did you get a truck from Racine? Did you dealer make a stock swap with the Racine dealer?

Break it in HARD!
Don't beat the ****e out of it but get on the gas a lot and vary speed and RPM's. There is a lot of debate about break in procedures. I broke mine in hard - lots of short basts of high RPM's.
