Hello everyone! This is my first post here so go easy on me!

I am trying to add some interior lights that come on when the doors open. I need to find the correct wire to tap for the lights. If anyone could help that would rock.

I do know that this will be harder than most cars as the door swich is IN the damn door! Thanks!

From memory I don't remember the wire colors, but I may be able to help you out.

If you remove either of the front door panels you'll see a bundle of 4 wires running to the door latch. Two of the four wires are smaller guage than the other two. The two smaller ones are for the DAS (Door Ajar Switch). If I remember correct the negative wire is black in color... it may have a white tracer.

 

On an 04 you won't find too many places with the wire. I added a light over the cupholder/ashtray and tapped the wire going to the heater controls, you will also find one going to the dome lamp, not sure where the harness is though. The wire is light blue with a red stripe.
