To quote "White99 GT" from the BlueOvalNews site:
"I think a short stroke, short deck V10 would be an awesome optional engine for the F150 and would fit into the Navigator's image perfectly. It's probably going to be needed to move this extended Expedition that is supposedly coming out soon, that thing will be heavy as hell.
The V10 would use the 4.6L's deck height and 3.54" stroke, they could use the heads, intake, cams etc from the new 3V 6.8L V10 from the Super Duties.
The Navigator would use the 4V heads.
It would be a 5.8L Hemi-slaying, Chevy GenIII inhaling V10 in either 3V or 4V form. Talk about a popular option for King Ranch and the higher end F150s.
They've been teasing us with this engine and I think it's about time they deliver. It would be foolish not to, IMHO. Ford doesn't have ANYTHING comparable to the new 6.1L Hemi coming out or the 6.0L Chevy, especially if the Chevy trucks ever get their 3 valve setup from the LS7 which they probably will.
Ford needs an engine bigger/more powerful than the 5.4L but smaller than the 6.8L so it can be packaged into F-150s, Expeditions and Navigators. And this is it, the short stroke V10"
Couldn't have said it better myself ....

Looked in the computer and it looks like the 4.2L (code 992 same as on Heritage last year) will be available. It looks like its only on 4x2 Regular cab
Also looks like there will be a manual trans option, but only with the 4.2L.
So based on what's in the computer, I'd say same as this year but with a "price Leader" 6 cyl 5 speed model for advertising purposes.

which will be needed once Heritage F150 models are sold out.
If Ford targets only on the luxury end, they will definitely lose the sales crown (as those value models do add up towards the total units sold)

Grimalkin, I actually was continuing my comments regarding the Lariat and the fact that bright red is only available with tan two tone in the 2004 model year since my initial sadness was related to lack of availability of silver in the Lariat for MY 2005.
Jeez is that a poorly constructed sentence. Does that even make sense?

Would that be the rumored replacement of the 4-speed tranny mated to the 5.4L 24V V-8 motors, with the new TorqueShift 5-speed automatic already in use on 6.0L PS diesel equipped trucks? This engine/tranny combo is going to be offered on the 05 MY SD trucks, so logic would suggest the F-150 will follow suit.

No Yellow, that is one reason I got my FX4 as I liked the Tonka Concept F350 Yellow and as the F250/350 were not in Yellow what choice was there ![Big Grin](https://www.f150online.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Mine was the only Yellow on the lot and had only just come off the delivery truck, the only other Yellow one at the time was driven/owned by the owner of the dealer, quite funny as when I drove it in people always thought it was the owners.
Rick.
