The New Navigation Unit

I just installed this last week. Very cool setup. It plays CD, DVD Video and has Navigation built into one unit.

That does look pretty sweet - what is the model number / info about that? Is the dvd/navigation unit built into the headunit or do you have to mount something else somewhere in the car? One last question: where did you get the double-DIN radio kit to mount the unit in? Thanks!

Internet Info

Eclipse model AVN2454. Retail price $4000 (but have yet to confirm this price). Found one classified add for $1500 (new). Haven't found any specs yet. Will keep looking.

Now that's what i'm talking about. Very nice HU you got there. You also scorred finding one on e-bay. Eclipse is very stringent about keeping there gear off line and only being sold in stores. Awesome setup!

That's a very cool unit. Do your steering wheel controls still work with that unit? I assume the DVD FM modulated.

Model Eclipse AVN2454
All in one...no extra parts. There is not voice command that I am aware of. There is a back eye camera that I have on order. The unit sells for 2299.00 but I found it on e-bay for about $2k.

The install kit came from circuit city and the wire kit came from Crutchfield. The most difficult part was to run the antenna but that wasnt too bad. It only took about an hour to install, but I also used to install car stereo systems a while back.

Stearing controlls will be added with the PAC thingy...I ordered it from crutchfield.

Philip

I've been looking at that unit, and the Kenwood double din unit. However the Kenwood has a seperate nav drive, and I don't know where I would bury it at. Can you please post some photos of your nav intenna?

Thanks,
mikebaby
